• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I would like to thank the Lady SpyderLovers here

Lamonster

SpyderLovers Founder
As you know everywhere you go you talk to folks about the Spyder. It's great when I see the gleam in a lady's eye when they look at the Spyder for the first time and say "I could ride that".:ohyea: That's when it's nice to be able to tell them to go to SpyderLovers.com and talk to some of the lady riders on this board. :spyder:

We have some really great women riders here that contribute a lot to the site and I'm sure it's an encouragement to all the lady's that are thinking about getting their own Spyder. I won't try and mention you all by name for fear I'll miss one :opps: but you know who you are and I would like to personally thank you all for making this a great place to refer new women riders to. You gals are great.:doorag:

:agree:

On most boards the ladies are a forgotten group. I had the privilage of riding with Deb on our trip out to California. I can tell you there are ladies out there than can ride!

Thanks, Lamont for providing a place were everyone can gather, contribute and enjoy.

From one of the ladies, Thank you so much guys. I don't know about the other ladies but for me, mutual admiration goes both ways. I get a lot of support and technical info from so many of the male members here, that it makes it easy to be a contributing female ryder.

Very well said Lamonster... Hats off to all you ladies who ride, with out you gals conversations and friendship our (men's) rides would be kind of one sided, yah know? So I echo Lamonsters words!!!

YOU GO GIRL!!!

Joe

I love being a lady ryder, and I love hearing from everyone, men and women, about their experiences with their Spyder. I have a lot of fun when a woman notices my Spyder and wants to know about it! I can talk about how easy it is to learn to ride well, and how much fun I am having. Thanks, Lamonster. (I even kept up with jnt on his beemer in the twisties this weekend!)

Yep - when I'm out on mine and a couple walks by - the girl usually says to the dude "Hey, maybe I can't ride that". So I say, "If I can ride it YOU can ride it!":2thumbs:

Thanks LaMonster, This is a great site with lots of knowledge and when we speak to anyone about the Spyder we tell them too look up Spyderlovers.com Hope to see you all in the Smokies:2thumbs:

It's You we have to thank, Lamont for running this forum. I probably wouldn't even have a Spyder if I could not have come here and found out all about it from people who owned them.

Then you initiated the Banner Signing. Going to the NE Banner signing was my first official SpyderLovers event! I signed the banner even before I bought my Spyder! Got to meet great people in person. I'm pretty sure meeting real owners was instrumental in convincing my husband that I could ride this thing if I had one. I feel I owe SpyderLovers more than I could ever repay.

So THANK YOU Lamont!!

Its fun to talk to people about the Spyder I talk to as many women as men when I talk to couples I always point out that we have a lot of couples who each have a Spyder. I love seeing more ladies at the runs and events and I see more and more riding their own bikes, it great. I had a real short lady come up to me a couple of weeks ago she had a lowered Dyna and said it was still a handful like a lot of us she just could not see getting a 35 to 45K Harley or goldwing trike. I would not be surprised if she does not get a Spyder.:clap:

Sadly, I can't get Nancy to participate here. Heck, I can't even get her to check her email more than once a month or so. :D Still, the women here have been very supportive of her, first personally encouraging her to get her through her MSI course, then encouraging her to learn to ride her Spyder. Of course everyone was extremely supportive during her recent surgery. Even though she doesn't participate directly, you all have made her feel at home and at ease...and she has become a ryder! It might not have happened without this forum. Thanks to all of you, but especially to the ladies here. You help make this forum what it is...family. A family can't exist without good women.

After LA draboo and I went to Long Beach to visit with a friend. While he was hanging out with the friend I decided to get some laundry done. I took the spyder to the laundry mat and there was a guy doing his laundry. We got to talking about the spyder and he asked, "where's the driver?" I simply replied, "Your lookin at her". His jaw dropped and it was a great response.....I will have my own some day, but this spyder is partially mine..(don't tell draboo)

This forum is a bit of an oddity - in a really good way. I've ridden two wheelers for years and often find a bit of reluctance from the "boys" in some ways. They think it's cool that a woman is riding - they just don't want me riding the same bike as them. Somehow, I guess that makes them feel that their ride isn't big enough or fast enough - whether I'm riding a liter sports bike, a sports tourer, etc. Here, the Spyder is a great equalizer - one size fits all and everyone can mod it or leave it stock to their own choice BUT everyone appreciates the fun we all have! So thanks to all you guys and ladies who make this such a great site to visit.

Thanks

I've found with my Spyder, being a lady driver, that as many women are asking questions as men. I think it is an awesome ride, and one that has made it to where women who otherwise wouldn't ride do!!

Well said, Jane. Everyone does seem to be on an equal footing here, no matter their gender, physical limitations, riding experience, or ability. That is very unusual in this day and age. Feels real good, doesn't it?
