• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I was so close.

Had my spyder all back together. Had the E brake working right  All the springs in place and working like there suppose to.:D All I had to do is bleed the brakes. No problem I've baled the brakes from Harley's to Mack trucks.:ohyea: But the spyder had me pulling my hair out. No matter what I did. Couldn't get a peddle.:dontknow: The book said pump at less 25 times on each wheel. I did. Nothing.:gaah: Went to the dealer. I was told that I have to have the program in order to get a peddle.:yikes: That sucks. I do all this work on my bike, and I still have to bring it to the shop. In the morning up on the trailer and off we go. I'm waiting for my new muffler from Two Brothers. So now I don't have to take the bike out with that UGLY stock muffler. I have to wait. Is somebody trying to tell me something?????

Computer, wow.. I have speed bleeders on my other bike and I would recommend them to any bike that has a normal brake system on it but for the spyder it sounds as though it won't work.. If you have never used the speed bleeders on your other bikes they are well worth the price.
Sorry to hear about your brakes brother.

I used a vacuum bleeder. Still couldn't get a peddle. It's Something to do with the computer and pressure front to back. In the book it says start with the left front, right front, rear. I even put new copper washers on the banjo bolts on the master cylinder. Books said there might be a leak. I can't find any. This is my first computer system on a bike.:helpsmilie::gaah:

I did a little research before I did my hand brake and after looking at what it took by the book to bleed the brakes (6 hours) I decided not to tie into the hydraulics and go with a mechanical system.

bleeding brakes and the Disabled Spyder Ryder, floto612

Hey Team,

From my humble understanding, the computor's use in bleeding the Spyder brakes is only to ensure of the pressures within, are correct. And this, is done by NOT tripping the low pressure switch (the click you hear when getting past the brake light switch). This low pressure switch is activated by brake peddle travel past a certain point, this switch then tells the computor........whoa up skippy, something is wrong with the brakes.

When the BUDS (Bombardier Utilities Diagonastic Software...I think) is connected, there are pressure sensor in the bike that tell the BUDS what the pressures are. Again, in my humble little mind, who cares? As long as the peddle/handlbar-lever is solid.

I did my brake bleeding with NO computor, following the Service manual procedure of what wheel to do next and the one on top of the ABS system as well. Yes is took me a while, and I will be putting in Speed Bleeders the next time I do this......but this is NOT past what a mechanical minded person can do alone. Heck, if a kid in a wheelchair can do it.............so can other 'tool handy' walkies. floto612
