• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I want an RT again

I owned a 2010 Rt and sold it a year ago. Now after crashing my bicycle, and being skiddish about 2 wheels I want to buy another spider. i sold the first one because I decided all I needed was a basic scooter. I am looking at a used 2011 rt-s as del as new ones.
My 2010 had recall after recall as well as stalling issues etc.
Are the 2011s and 2012s pretty much problem free. I got very frustrated with my 2010, especially after it went into "limp home mode" so many times, and often at less than convenient places.

There care three dealers not far from me. One s 20 minutes and the other 2 an hour. One of the further ones has the 2011. I imagine I can eliminate the shipping and other initial costs if I buy it but not sure. Are there deals to be had now. I got almost nothing off when I bought my 2010.
Its good to be back, or at least soon to be back. I wish the RS was a good match for me, but I had one of those first and the riding position, even after many expensive add ons never worked for me.

The two most fequent reasons for "Limp Home" that we have found is ryding the brake and gas cap loose sensor...

A couple of renters said they were not ryding the brake.... however BUDS says differently.

There are some good used units starting to pop up for sale.... Spring is in the air, people start to change what they want. Next year the used market will be even better... still not enough units on the road to bring prices down too much.

I did it-It was not too difficult

I am back on the site, and back on the Spyder. I will pick it up tomorrow. I got, what I think is a fabulous deal from the closets dealer to me-20 minutes away, and they are giving me a very decent trade in allowance. I bought a 2012 red RT-S, and other than having to write a fairly substantial check, it was pretty painless.

I look forward to, what I hope is, many trouble free miles.

Teddy & I would like to say CONGRATS & WELCOME BACK to the SpyderHood

:yes::congrats: & :welcome::yes:

Make sure they go over the entire pre delivery inspection list with you. Dealer setup is EVERYTHING. Hope you chose a competent one! Welcome back!

You are probably not going to find and "super deals". I even tried that with my dealer and had already purchased three spyders from them.

I do believe that price is not everything though. A good pre-purchase set up, good mechanics, etc. are higher on my priority list.
