• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I think my rear bearings are shot...

my wheel sounds like someone shaking a can of spray paint.

I guess it's good timing since I have 10.8K miles and need a new tire.

From experience learned, change all the rear wheel bearings. I had to do twice because I changed the one I "thought" was the one.

With the new lower tension belt spec I'm not as concerned---- but for those of us (almost everyone out here) that have been running the old TOO-TIGHT spec--- I wouldn't trust them much over 12,000 miles.....they're cheap to replace while you're doing a tire swap anyway....

I had the first replacement at about 26K, the rear sprocket bearing at 38K, and all 3 again at 39K. That's why I suggest do them all when you do them. Doing them at every rear tire change, or 15K miles, is not a bad idea.

Just had my rear wheel and sprocket bearings changed at 20k due to them making noise especially when moving backwards out of the garage.

Is there a supplier of bearings out there besides the dealer?
I just hate to pay double for something I don't have too. (That's not a ding on Spyder dealers, It's a ding on OEM in general)

These are what you need from any bearing supplier.

30BD40DF2 - sprocket bearing. Wheel takes 2 of 6205 2RS Seals are 37x55 two needed

Three O-rings 15IDx3mm needed and one 60IDx3mm

Hey there everyone.

For the rear sprocket bearings the Owners manual "Replace every 30,000miles (50,000km)".

There is nothing in the Owners manual about when the rear axle bearings should be replaced.

My mileage are getting up there... and I'm wondering if any sprocket or rear axle bearings have been replaced under BEST Warranty as being worn pre-maturely?
Thanks
