I think I am at a croos roads

Amazing how people on here make post very I interesting and laughable !

Was out today in this beautiful weather , met up with other Spyder lovers and I have to say it was the worst ride ever . These guys did not know how to ride at all . Going slow missing turns Two spiders almost ran into each other , got dam . Then it hit me . When we stop for lunch I looked around and felt that I was in a got dam nursing home , lol I was the youngest rider .

Going at least 75 to 80 would have been exciting but 40 to 50 then waiting for these fools lol.
Amazing . Left the pack came home and jump on my Gixxa road for bout and hour and that was my therapy for the day . Maybe when I hit 50 I will be like these guys today .

No hard feelings but I may not be going out again with you guys ,lol
it still all love .

The majority of feed back that came from this was speed and wisdom , lmao
please point out to me where the hell did I ever say in my post that I was doing 75 to 80 , again lol.

I don't have to be 50 or 70.to have wisdom even thou I am gonna get ther one day , riding 17 years gave me the experience at least to know when to go fast and when not to , yes it's got dam common sense . It's hard for me to believe that people that owned ther spiders have never stretch her legs and has gone faster that the speed limit , yes if the speed limit is 65 people often go 70 , in my opinion people who stay with the speed limit on a bike all the time then congratulations , There's a lot of contradiction on here , I read that when people were younger they use to ride fast now they just want to join the scenery . Yea cus your 70 now. That's ok but don't worry guys , when I hit 70 I am going to enjoy the scenery too, lmao .
Oh once again and I quote my self " GOING AT LEAST 75 to 80 WOULD HAVE BEEN EXCITING ! But it's ok keep jumping om me , I am not sensitive I can take it , lmao it's all love for this forum . Good morning.

Edsts, the thread took a left turn, as it brought up a subject that you are either for, or against. I don't ever create a thread to complain about other people. I only create posts to ask questions from those who know more than me on a subject, or to offer my expertise on a subject. Most threads I see where people air their grievances I avoid, but yours caught my attention when I saw words like "nursing home" and "fools".

I have a great deal of respect for my elders. You know, it takes a lot of hard work and a lot of luck to make it to an elderly age. That in itself earns respect. Also, a lot of these guys fought for our country. They have my eternal respect for that. Many elderly people sit at home and do nothing because as you get older, every bone in your body hurts. They wake up in pain and go to bed in pain. Most of them are on several medications for multiple issues. The fact that they at least try to get out and ride a 2 or 3 wheeler earns my respect; even if they don't ride as fast as a 35 year old man, or if they miss a turn because their eyes aren't as good as someone half their age. Try to be more tolerant, for one day, if you are lucky enough, you'll be there too.

There is a lot to be learned from someone who has seen the world that long, and been around during certain historical moments. I believe that some day you'll understand. What if that was your father, or grandfather that someone was talking bad about, would you not stand up for them?

Then the issue of speed came up. While that may not have been a big issue for you; you did bring it up, and that opened up a can of worms. I drive the speed limit or below. Why? Reason number one: It's the law. Reason number two: For safety sake, it makes more sense. There are other reasons, but the first two are reason enough.

If other people want to drive fast, that is their prerogative. They can go ahead and do what they want. But they need to understand that excessive speed is against the law, and a person moving slower has no responsibility to maneuver at their request or demand. Those who do not believe that are the same people that cause road rage. Their narcissistic behavior and belief that they have entitlement is a rapidly growing problem in this country, and I have no problem putting these juveniles in time out.

I too want us all to play nice and get along. I don't believe in name calling, but when called out; I will always take a stand for what is right. This being said, I bow out of this thread. There is really nothing more that needs to be said.

True! Most of his life he has ridden dirt bikes in Southern California. Just switched over to a street bike a few years ago. Maybe that has something to do with it?

We'll keep working with him, but no more highway riding till he gets it.
:2thumbs: GREAT choice! and Thanks, for helping to turn him into s decent street rider!

How's your weather down there today?? :D

" I for one do not have to ever worry about killing someone due to my negligence, because I always drive at a speed and distance to avoid accidents".

I guess I'm on the train... That is probably the dumdest thing I have read yet!!! EVERYONE needs to worry about killing someone when you are controling a motor vehicle. You may drive the speed limit (so do I 90% of the time) but it is still a large object moving at a high rate of speed. Maybe you need to go to a drivers education class. Wait.. I know you don't because your older than me and know everything and are always right! Nobody EVER said that speeding is not againist the law, that again is a dumb comment! So if you want to talk sh#t to me then use the words I say, not what you think you read. Yes I brought up the information about the people running into each other and missing turns. Thats because if you going to comment on a post comment on the whole post! Maybe you need to go to a internet etiquette class. I know that you are probably a very safe driver and I applaud that. I also am a safe operator (I drive for a living and have had 0 accidents and 0 tickets for 22 years). However for you and others to come on here and beat someone down for one or two sentences out of an entire post is B.S.. I can be just as aggressive as you or anyone else. I know people that have stopped posting on Spyderlovers due to people just like you. You claim your "helping people" with your information. Your not, you are just an opinionated person that doesn't care what anyone thinks about what you say and what you say is always 100% correct!
So to wrap this up 1. We all know speeding is againist the law 2. We all know that what happens while your operating a vehicle is your responsibility 3. We all know that speed kills 4. We ALL need to be safe and feel comfortable while riding 5. We all know that calling people names will just piss someone off 6. We all NOW know that we should read and comment on the entire post if we comment on any of it in a negative way 7. And finally we all ride Spyders/motorcycle's and know that it is a dangerous thing to do. Yet we all do it beacuse we love it. That is why there is a motorcycle wave, because we all have a little crazy in us and we acknowledge it. Think before you act (on and off the bike) because it could be a life altering decision. Last but not least enjoy the ride because you never know when it's your last!

I think the time has come to close this one down. Never have I seen such a display of disrespect on all sides break out so quickly. I hope Lamont shuts the door on this wrestling match. nojoke

You will get old to, that is if your lucky. I'm not really into group rides but will join if its for a fund raiser. I have an STS and have no trouble pushing it to 80 85 on an open road. Haven't gone for 100 yet but I will be trying it this summer out west.

Old guys don't need to be in a rush, maybe their smelling the roses and enjoying the ride. They don't need that adrenalin rush anymore.

Full discloser, I have more years behind me than I have in front of me.
