I pod Shuffle

Today I bought an Ipod shuffle for no other reason than to connect to my Spyder. Much to my dismay the cable that comes with the Spyder does not plug into it. Did I just waste 55 bucks?

I got 2 cables with mine. One with the old style wide, flat adapter and one that looks like the non-usb one that your showing. Both plug into the DIN connector in the trunk.

I got 2 as well. The cable you are talking about is the MP3 cable. It is sound only. This cable will not charge or you cannot control the ipod from the left handlebar control.

Well, the connecter they give you (the wide flat one) is way put of date :dontknow: I had to dig out my old "classic" that has a disk in it in order to use it. Once I did that, it seems to work fine, but I had to re-load a lot of music :helpsmilie: It doesn't stand a snowballs chance in hades of running my I-Phone 5 :gaah:

yep, I searched as well, have the same problem with my shuffle.

Looks like the only way is get 30 pin to USB and then a female USB to female USB connector. That might turn into a cluster and may not even give all controls / charge. It'd be a gamble

Back to the store and see if I can get my money back. That is the first piece of icrap I have bought and it looks like it will be the last.

I use my shuffle and my Iphone with my spyder. You just need the other pin connector for your shuffle. Your dealer should have this as mine came with both. Yes the shuffle will work and like was said, you can't control the songs playing on the shuffle, but you can control the volume. I'm fixing to get an Ipod nano to us, as it has the same plug as my Iphone and you can select the songs that are playing. The shuffle is a very inexpensive and good piece of equipment.

I got a nano off of eBay for $60.

I realize that I could've used the stereo cable, but the only reason I bought an ipod was to be able to control it from handle bars. If it can't do that it is useless to me.
I got my money back and the store was good about it.

I don't believe that will work. It's a 3 conductor RCA jack. Even the one provided by Apple is 4 conductor. There simply no way to get 3 line stereo audio outputs, 2 data lines and 2 power lines on 3 conductors. It will give stereo out exactly the same as the cable I already have from BRP.

Find yourself a used ipod classic. It just plugs in and works

yup, for now. The shuffle is no better than a $10 mp3 player I can get at a discount store. The store gave me my money back. I will keep my eyes open for a compatible ipod, now that I know what to look for.
