• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I-Pod Connection

Dwight

RT-S SE PE#0192
I was checking out the plugins in the rtrunk. Found the 12 volt one easy, but the other one I found has me baffeled. I thought it was for the I-Pod. If it is I didn't get a cord to connect with. It looks like a port for head sets. They just handed me the I-Pod, it wasn't in the rtrunk. Should I have a special cord or does it connect elsewhere? Nope, I don't have all of my communication stuff, just gettin prepared.

Thanks
Dwight

Yes. Depending on the model RT you've bought. If you don't have the cable you should go back to your dealer and get them.

The RT-S comes with two cables, one for the IPOD and another for an MP3 player. I think the Audio and convenince package only includes the MP3 Player. The plain vanilla RT doesn't come with anything.

The IPOD cable has the DIN connector (looks like a headset) on one side and the long flat IPOD connector on the other. In between there is box . I've used double stick tape to keep the box from swinging around. When you connect it all up, you can use the buttons on the ECC to change songs, change playlists and change the volume.

The MP3 connector is a DIN connector on one side and a 3.5 mm plug ont he other to fit into your MP3.

I hope this helps. Keep us posted on how you make out.

your sig shows you got the Premiere Edition so it should have come with the special plug/cord ipod adapter that I got. Call your dealer. but first check that is not in the front trunk, zipped area.

after i connected my ipod, i could change the song with the passenger contols, but not the volume of the rear speakers. should i be able to?

I have been told that the passenger volume control will only control the passenger headset if and when you install it. Meanwhile you can enjoy having your songs changed at your passenger's whim:D

I guess they must have forgotten it. I checked the front zippered storage and it wasn't there. My CB was supposed to arrive last week, I'll call them Tuesday and see if it came in and also ask about the missing cord. Still won't get the comm system working though, when I was there a week ago they said the headphones wouldn't be in until some time in May!:dontknow:

Don't forget that there are two audio cables, one for iPod and one for plain mp3 player. I hope you also got the included Outdoor Cover.

Thanks for the reminder Scotty, I never got either cable. I did get the big cover, traded it back to them for the travel cover. Used it in AR last week, works good, still a little large to carry. I may leave it home on our big trip, space will be at a premium.

Auxiliary audio cables

I've been playing with the ipod and audio cables that plug into the DIN connector in the trunk. Can't seem to get either to come up on the display.
Am I missing something simple?

Did you hit the "Mode" switch to go to the audio screen, then hit set until the iPod/Aux is selected?

I'll give that a try. I was only in radio mode... didn't use the set button. From reading the manual, it looked like it would come up automatically once you hooked up them up and had music playing. But then again, I've already noticed the manual is pretty vague. Thanks for the help.

IPod Connector

Yes you shoudl ahve recieved an IPOD Connector that conencts to that lug back there in the trunk and the other end plug into your IPOD jack. If you do not have one with that jack on it then they didnt give you one and you should get this if you have this option on your bike. If so get it from your delaer. We are RTS SE5 loaded and customized with other features. Hoe this helps:chat:
