• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I never leave my 2008, SM5 in neutral...

That's why I found it strange that my spyder was moving when I leaned against it today after my hike. It was even stranger when I went to back out and didn't have reverse. Then, when shifting from first to second, it kept popping back to neutral, unless I held the shifter up for a second or two after releasing the clutch lever. And then there were a few times I couldn't shift from second to first after I stopped. I guess tomorrow I'm off to the dealer. I hope I can make it without the tranny completely crapping out.

Up until today, there's been no tranny trouble since the clutch basket fell off the crankshaft at around 14,000 miles; it now has about 24,600 miles.

 Wylie
Please let us know what they find! Good Luck!
I'm not sure what could cause that; I'm hoping that it's just in the shifting mechanism rather than the rest of the transmssion!

Bummer..!!

sounds like it is in the shifting drum. Something may have been damaged when you had the clutch mishap and should have been changed then. Clutch hub may have worn some part down and now it has worn through. Hope it is just under the clutch cover and easy access..let us know..and good luck..!! :dontknow:

I got it back today.

All fixed and covered by the BEST warranty. It was a bent shift shaft. The dealer even put the clutch reservoir gasket, that I screwed up, in the warranty claim.

They also covered the parking brake replacement under the BEST. Although I knew there was a problem with it, I hadn't asked them to check it. I had done the minor adjustment and then the next step up where you remove and reposition the bracket a number of times over the years.
