• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I need some advice regarding my 2012 Spyder RT Limited

I have my 2012 Spyder RT Limited at Ride-Now in Tucson. Apparently the engine cranks but won't start. They don't know what to do. They have sent the computer data to Can-Am and they can't seem to help. Can-Am is now sending a person down from Canada to advise. Does anyone know What I can expect if they can't get it fixed?
I have an extended warranty and full coverage insurance.

Hard to say...

not knowing your dealer or their capablities. It could be as simple as being flooded, bad plugs/coils /kill switch etc. Assuming they have checked this the computer info, as good as it may be, does not cover everything. As to what to expect....you should be covered unless they find the issue is a normal wear item or a customer fault issue. Let us know what they finally find...:gaah:

They are assessed the least dependable bikes for good reason

How unusable is it for Cam-Am to send a rep to help?

As best I know at the moment, they're not sending anyone to figure out what's been wrong with mine for a year and a half. Problem started while it was well within warranty.

Good luck.

Blame the dealer - but never the company that approved them.

 The dealership can't figure this out??? :banghead:

I hate to say it: find yourself another dealer... nojoke

Really Bob, you HATE to say it?

Isn't that your standard fare.

Not really... nojoke
A Dealership should have some technicians who (in theory!) should know their way around the bikes.
Stuff happens... we take the bikes to the dealerships to get them fixed.
They need to know what they're doing!

Blaming the Company for everything...

"Isn't that your standard fare" :dontknow:

Chain of command

Spyder life begins with BRP.

Once purchased they tell you to see their Factory Authorized dealers if a problem is encountered.

Not any dealer.

A Factory Authorized dealer.

Who authorizes those dealers?

BRP does.

So yes, if the dealer can't live up to what is expected of them by both the owner and BRP.

That's a BRP problem.

 i don't want to "Muddy the waters" for this fellow's thread.
So I'll just say that I'm sorry that your Spyder experience hasn't been as much fun as mine...

...And I think that you should dump the bike, and find one that you actually can enjoy!

From the OP's original explanation in which he said BRP was sending a rep to examine the problem it appears a case has been opened which is probably better than just a he said-she said between the dealer and BRP. In the automotive business when a dealer can't figure out a problem they bump it to zone rep level; it appears BRP may be doing the same thing. Let's just wish the OP best of luck in getting the situation resolved.

Let's see how this plays out. I would ask to be there and talk in person to the representative that is "on the way." That goes under the "trust but verify" scenario.

Unfortunately, the Ride Now name is in this. I believe they have been mentioned quite a few times on this site.

For now. no further comment, more facts needed: :bbq::bbq::bbq::bbq:

3 months without your bike? :yikes: how did they compensate you ? did you get a loner? what if this bike was your only ryde.
