There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. I need help

I was told by my Dealer when exploring fitting those accent lights that you hafta use a hole saw to remove the section the LED should shine thru.... very carefully because you need to do it from the back (the bit you have exposed by removing the cover) & you really don't want to mark the inside of glass or get swarf/filings crap in there!! :dontknow:

I haven't done it yet, but I'm planning on it.... Eventually!

I don't think you would EVER get it to seal ..... contact your dealer or BRP ..... Mike

They do it all the time for auto lights ..why not try the Spyder light??

There nothing to loose since he is talking about buying the US version

I know some guy met him ones before he used to be working on spiders led lights , will ride to him tomorrow and show him the headlight and see if he know how to heated it up then I will find a way to knock up the plate from inside.

do you think I can find any vid or youtube show how its be done ?

I couldn't find any vids or youtube... that doesn't necessarily mean there is none, but a while back when I looked I couldn't easily find any. Still, my Dealer said they'd done a couple, & would happily fit the LED's to my Spyder as well, using the hole saw method; altho he didn't think it was in any way beyond me & my capabilities...

It really doesn't look too hard. Just find the correct sized hole saw, line it up carefully, & drill away - very carefully!! Probably it'd be smart to drill the hole saw UP into the light assy, at least at the final 'break thru' stage, so that the shavings etc will tend to fall out rather than drop into the lens area, altho static electricity generated by the hole saw spinning on the plastic might make that a bit irrelevant anyway, so maybe drill slowly as well as carefully - or use a high powered vacuum cleaner once you've dropped stuff into the lens area!! Once that blank is drilled out, it looks & sounds to be a very straight forwards task.
nojoke

Go for it!! You know you want to!!

A hole saw or another type of cutter may work as suggested. To get the debris out you may have to use a vacuum to suck out the headlight hope it get all the junk of it.

Or the other option is to heat and separate the headlight cover.

VALUE FOR WHAT YOU GET

I am so glad to be a member of this community, Mike  I spoke with the dealer , they couldn't offer any more help and yet they are very humble with the knowledge I even wanted to learn from you guys and do it myself  its seems you are right it's all about the different reign models .. maybe just maybe I have to buy the whole new North America headlights unit just to fix my LED :joke:
IMHO ...... buying complete headlight units ( $500.00+ ) just so you can use those LED's you bought ....is like buying a Cadillac because you found some tail-light lens that will fit that car !!!!!!!!! ...... :gaah:...Seriously, the amount of light those LED's will put out is small ..... You want light get Lamont's 4000 Lumen LED headlite LED's for $110.00 and forget those PUNY BRP things ........PS......you can find Lamont's stuff on the Home Page at LaMonster garage ......:thumbup::thumbup:..Mike

I start thinking the same , maybe the models in our region come with different specification ? but the instructions that came with the LED did not mention that !
Yes, that is the case. The parts diagram for the North American models shows the auxiliary light as part of the headlight assembly. That light is absent in the European version of the Spyder. The part numbers for the headlight assemblies are different. See here: http://parts.spyder.brp.com/Index.a...258m5eaa7&catalog_id=0&language_id=1&siteid=1

Where did you order the auxiliary lights from? They probably should not have been shipped outside of North America.

The lower lights, which we have as fog lights, are the low beam lights on your Spyder, correct?

Why on earth not?? They are fairly readily available here in Aus, & are openly advertised as part of the OE LED Accent Kit??

And Yes, what you see as fog lights are our OE Low Beam Lights (as bloody stupid & ineffective for being seen as that may be!! :cus:  )

There's a disconnect somewhere in BRP. Why would they advertise and sell optional lights that the OE headlamp isn't designed to accept? If, as you say, you will have to modify the headlamp housing to use the lights, and BRP is making those lights available as an option, then the installation instructions should include directions on how to do the modification.

Because there is an incompatibility between the optional kit and the headlight housing for non-NA Spyders, and that incompatibility leads to questions and frustrations about how to install them, that's why I said they shouldn't sell them outside of NA. BRP is not doing you non-NA owners any favors by offering them as an option to you without also providing a means to modify the housing. They essentially are selling something to non-NA owners that those owners cannot use. Not fair, is it? If BRP were to give you the whole enchilada you need to enjoy the meal, I would see no reason not to sell them to non-NA owners.

The kits were made available, I'm sure, because the base RT in NA does not have the accent lights, but the RTS and Limited do. The headlamp housings are the same among all three versions here in NA.

I ordered it from brp Canada [emoji1063] and yes the lower is the same for the fog light .. it's has been confirmed that my unit is meant to be as European version

You may also need to file off the edges if you go with the hole saw . They maybe a bit jagged

The hole saw needs to be just big enough to take out the domed bit of the blank - be careful that it's not just a touch too big so that it cuts into the vertical tube walls surrounding the dome that you can see from the shiny side, or the black bits that you can see surrounding the blank that you can see from behind...

I've been told that the hole saw needs to be the same dia as the outside of the LED section, so the LED is a friction fit in the resulting hole when you push it into place; if the hole saw fits over the protruding LED bit, it's apparently too large & will cut into the shiny surrounds that are meant to be remain un-molested.

Good Luck!

(Hey, it's great to be able to pass on all these instructions I've been given, and then just sit back & let you do it first!! Hope you don't mind, but please, show & tell us how you go - I wouldn't want to repeat any mistakes you might make! :opps: ) ;)
