• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I Just Heard from AKSpyderman...

Thanks for posting. The site above is the one I have on my favorites, so that I can go to it for information.

What concerned me today was the fact that in a period of less than 24 hours there were three quakes that you could feel and the house rattled and shook. All were under 5. One at 4.7, one at 4. and another at 3.7. Quakes of that magnitude generally do not do any damage. We just "go for a ride". The three were also in the Cook Inlet area. Epicenter 19 miles and 8 miles from my area for two of them. Also concerning me was the fact that there have now been about 10 of them, all along the fault (duh) between Seattle and AK. Normally they cluster and do not appear in a specific line.

So far, so good. They say little ones are good because they relieve pressure on the plate tectonics.

I was here for a 7. something a few years back that epicentered around Denali Park. It tore up roads and cut them in half around Mentasta. The house really shook hard for almost a minute and there was a similar aftershock. No damage for us--but stuff got re-arranged a little bit.

What is most scarry about a big quake is that you are there, and there is nothing you can do about it other than wait and watch.

It now looks like we are undergoing "the usual".

Well I guess I have to take the blame for the quakes. My wife just flew in last night to Anchorage. She has the worst luck of anybody I know ( used up all her good luck on me!). She will only be there for a week so things should go back to normal soon.

Nothing like a rousing welcome for our SL friends.
