I just got my Biker's Friend bag w/rider backrest

I ordered my Biker's Friend seat bag with a rider backrest and I just got it this morning. I went out and put it on my spyder and then adjusted the backrest to where it would be comfortable for me. I went for a little spin and I think I am really going to like this bag. It is going to be really great when I get my handlebar riser and footboards installed. Here are some photos.

Here is just the bag on the spyder

This is me in the normal forward riding position, even though I am not leaning on the backrest, the lumbar roll is very nice back there.

Here I am kind of enjoying the backrest with the current handlebar set up

Here I am in the position I will be enjoying after I get my risers and footboards. I will set my Throttlemeister and enjoy the scenery.

Really like this setup, where and how much is this nice piece of dual purpose luggage

I found it at http://www.bikersfriend.com/ This is the Large bag. bjt may want one and he is thinking of the XL. The only difference is the length of the bag. The XL is 4" longer. My price for the Large was $229.95 plus shipping. The XL is $249.95. I haven't packed it yet but it looks like it will hold quite a bit. It is waterproof and has inside and outside pockets on both ends and can be opened from either end. I attached with the bungee cords that came with it, under my seat so there is no issue with fueling while the bag is in place. I will be going on a 3.5 hour trip tomorrow so I will get a much better feel for it then. I know I am going to like it though, there are times when I just sit back now and it will be nice to have that support. I'll post again after my trip with a true review. Of course after I get my risers and footboards, that will be the bees knees.

That really looks nice! I ordered one for myself first thing this morning. I'll be interested what you think of it after a longer ride. I want to be able to lean back once in a while and relax my back. Thanks for putting me onto it!

So far I like it and I hope you do too. I just ordered an XL for bjt. We'll post the photos of those when it comes in. I had someone ask me about a full face helmet inside. Yes it does fit and then leaves a small amount of room for odds and ends or maybe some small soft clothing packed in around the helmet. With the XL you would have the same diameter but an extra 4" in length. Here are the photos, one from each end of the bag with the HJC Carbon Fiber inside.

Same here. After she came in the house showing off what UPS gave her, we went out and decided on the best mounting for this bag. They included three different things for mounting the bag to a bike; two adjustable nylon straps with quick release buckles, two reusable heavy duty zip ties, two quality bungee cords. We looked at using the nylon straps but just couldn't find a way to make them work how we wanted. The zip ties were just too short for the Spyder. The two bungee cords seem to work great going around the grab bar handles at the back and under the seat for the front. That way, the bag does not have to be removed or loosened for fueling up.

Anyways, once we got it lashed down, I quickly jumped on her Spyder and got the first "trial sit". :D Immediately, I knew I wanted one of these. Amazing how well that little lumbar roll can make your back feel just by giving your tailbone and low back just a little support. With the NoMagicNeon or Kewlmetal handlebar risers and a more upright riding position, this could truly be used as a backrest and would be very comfortable. :doorag:

Now that she has hers and I will be getting one soon, I think we'll have two BRP rear seat bags for sale. :)

Well, I just got back earlier this evening from my first weekend use of my bikersfriend bag. It was a little over a three hour trip each way. It was great. I was able to pack quite a bit of stuff in the bag and I still had room left over. It performed as advertised. I was able to lean back and shift my riding position for comfort as needed. It will be even better when I get my handlebar risers. My arms just aren't long enough to sit back all the way with both hands on the bars and relax. I was sitting back with one hand resting and keeping the other on the handle bar. Also, my husband is working on my extensions for the highway brackets so that my footboards can be mounted within my reach and at a nice cruising level. I'll be all set pretty soon.

By the way, Laughingheart, have you tried your bag out yet? How do you like it? bjt (my husband) is supposed to get his tomorrow.

Glad to hear your report, Deb. I used it on a brief ride, and like you, I can't lean all the way back yet. I'm waiting for Matt's 7" bars. It did seem to help. We are planning a longer trip this weekend. Winnie

bjt got his biker'sfriend bag in. He just got it UPS a few minutes ago and we took some photos. It fits nicely and has the extra room of the extra 4 inches. Here are two photos of his and another one of mine to compare. I have the Large, he has the Extra Large. For the purposes of the photos, the bag is just sitting on his Spyder, not bungeed down, as we are getting ready to leave for work.

Here is mine, it doesn't go over the end of the grab handles like his does.
