• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Recieved my new BRP Ultra Touring windshield today, and finished installing them. I took a ride on the Interstate and WOW...I'm impressed!

I got the 25 inch version which is just about right for me since I have the 4 inch NMN risers. The lower vents are great at diverting wind away from my legs and body. They may be a bit hot during our Summers here in TN, but I'm sure loving a little heat now since its getting cooler here now.

Next I'll be ordering a more comfortable seat and some hard bags. Haven't decided which ones yet, but I really love the Corbin Fleetliners(?) But they are WAY too expensive. :( Might just go with BPR's bags.

The Corbin bags are very nice and hold a lot of stuff, but the BRP bags are more versatile since you can detach them and use them as luggage. Plus, you can detach the rails easily and make your Spyder look sporty again.

(Disclaimer: I do not have either one of these set ups, but I know people who have each kind)

I don't know about you, but I NEVER remove my bags - & I like the tucked in look of the GIVI frames. I bought a complete NEW set on E-bay for $420, including shipping.

I really like them, and I have $1,600 that I didn't send to Corbin to buy other farkles.....

:agree: :roflblack:

I really liked being able to remove them during our trip to TN--- not to mention it makes cleaning the rear of the bike MUCH easier. The BRP quick-release rack system is pretty darn slick if I do say so myself!

Thank you, for the info on the Ultra 25-incher. Been considering one of those for "Scorpio". Tired of cleaning bugs off my faceplate!:f_spider:

I also recently installed the 25" touring windshield and I am a little disappointed. The protection is awesome - no wind on my chest, face, legs (due to the side deflectors), but when I sit upright in my normal riding position, the buffeting on the top of my helmet is bad. I am 6' tall, and must have a long torso - no other mods to the spyder. If I move forward slightly and look through the windshield, all is peaceful and quiet, but sitting normally, the buffeting is annoyingly loud. Frankly, a shorter windhshield may be better, as my whole head would be in the wind, or else another 2" taller would be ideal for a very quiet ride (or if I were a little shorter). I may try adding robobrackets to it, or I may sell it and go another direction.

A Laminar Lip may be another option for you to get a few more inches of height on your BRP windshield.

That is exactly what I did on my 23" Ultra Touring Windshield. I would have gotten the 25" one but it wasn't available to my knowledge. I added the Laminar Lip right at the top edge of the windshield which adds about 4" .

The result is a very good still air pocket and no buffeting at all. I am 6'8" .

Cost $90, took 1 minute to install.
