I have not found a handlebar yet for my RT

[Questions]

I have found bars for the RS and nothing for the RT....I was told that the project would be too labor intensive ( 8 hours) and not cost effective.....

Anyone at all have any ideas or suggestions...:chat:

I replaced mine with a chrome handle bar cap(top half), First I sent it to a chrome shop, along with other parts,they look at it, (to chrome something it has to be smooth), so to get it smooth it was going to cost more than ordering it from BRP. Also, had pegs and supports, shifter,brake padel,muffler guard and exhaust tips all replaced with chrome. would had the clutch shifter chromed if I had though about it, Anything that was gray is chrome now on the :spyder:Cost some big change but it was a mod I wanted ever since I brought the RT-S:spyder: in Aug. So I have all the parts that came off. shoot me a thread, we might be able to get together on a price for them, plus shipping. tried to downlaod the mods, I'll have to get my granddaughter to help me do that,

They have aftermarket risers for the RS, but I would like a little set back for the bars on my RT. No one that I am aware of makes such a thing at the moment, but the bar on the RT is more complex than the RS. It seemed to me at one time I saw a clip from Kewl Metal that they were trying to design a 1 inch riser that would go under the existing stuff, so that you could maintain all the stock stuff and still have a little rise. I need just a little movement back, not up. If something comes up, I hope they'll post it.

Be careful with moving them any farther back. They already interfere with your legs at full turn.

Did you buy the BRP parts, and if so where did you get them. I have been waiting since FEB. for some chrome and the dealer said their system shows it will be released in early May.

Rover, Are you looking for a dress-up item, or something with a different bend to it?
I've been kind of looking for something with just a bit more pullback to it... but it just looks as if nobody is going to start changing the shape of the bars on RTs because you'd end up changing other stuff too... complications would start to pile up!

Heli Bars was at one time thinking about making an adjustable handlebars for the RT. You might want to give them a call www.helibars.com.

My wife had a set on her Harley Deluxe and I have a set on my Streetglide. Until you have the ability to finite adjust your handlebars for your needs you don't know how comfortable you can be on a long ride. Well worth the $$$$$$.When Heli has one for the RT I will put a set on my wifes RT.
