• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have a new problem.

When it's hot over 100 deg. F. It does want to shift, no up shift to 1st and on rev. after restarting when it. I turned off the engine rolled it front and back, then I started back up and it work again and I drove home with out any problems. Today I started up and rode it for about 70 miles with out any problems. After it sat in the sun for about an 1 1/2 I started it up and it would not shift again. Then I got it in to 1st and drove off and it would
not shift into 2nd, I stop and let it set for 20 min. and then shifted ok for the rest of the day and never got error code at all and check for error(s). when I got home. None. Did anyone else have this problem with there RS-S SE5? Thanks.

Little checking..!!

shifting problems start with the oil condition and levels. When was the last oil and filters changed..?? Is the level at full or under..?? With no codes it is a little harder to pin point. It may also be in the shifter and or actuator/selenoid...:dontknow:

any time you have shifting problums 90 %your too low on oil,oil must be full as the auto shiftis by oil psi.if your just a little low you will have shifting proublems.:chat:

Mike:

There is a solenoid that kicks it into gear that is actuated by oil pressure. My guess is there isn't enough pressure. Check the level and/or go to slightly heavier weight for the hot, hot months.

As other have said first check your oil level. Anywhere above the add line at the bottom of the dipstick is fine. Somewhere more than a quart low the the HCM pump can start sucking air.
Check to see if your shift lever is loose. If it is trying to come off and is partly off the spline shaft it will be hitting other hardware in that area, stopping it from shifting.
When a SE5 has trouble shifting, when at idle the throttle will blip to 2000 rpm for maximum 3 times to assist with the gear shift. You did not describe that as happening. That would tend to point to the electrical side of the system rather than the hydraulic/mechanical side of the system. It could also be that the Blipper solenoid is defective if you have one (2012 and earlier GS/RS)
At anytime did an "E" appear in the gear position display. If so that could mean a loose, dirty or defective Gear Position Sensor.

The oil is full, the shift linkage is ok, the blipper check out ok, no "E" appear in the gear position display, and the oil was changed 1,567 miles ago.
The only thing I didn't check Gear Position Sensor. I tried to make it fail today with no luck. Thanks for the feedback.

I have had this issue, it happens every morning, as I am riding down our hill. It is a VERY steep hill, so I think the decline makes the oil levels low enough to make it think she's low. Once I get to the bottom, she shifts fine.
