I met Dave Barr Saturday at a charity ride for The Fisher House. I went to Clarkston, MI, Friday afternoon, without my Spyder (coolant overflow tank split), to support some old friends on the ride.
I met Dave Barr, a double amputee, who was inducted into the AMA Hall of Fame in 2000. This guy has a number of Guiness World Records, and a can-do attitude that still has me a little dazzled. He rode around the world on a 12 year old Harley, then coast to coast from France to Siberia, and recently did a Southern Cross ride to the 4 corners of Austrailia.
Dave led the ride on a Sportster, and then gave us a short history of his life, again, an amazing man, and a regular guy at the same time. Hope to see him again.
