• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have a confession...

We never get bored in here - if we're not learning, poking fun, laughing, arguing, talking about farts coming out of Poorboy's eyes (that one was hysterical), or calling that Ebay dude a tool - I'd say we can entertain ourselves pretty good. And yes, you definitely are a part of that so good you are staying put!

I was out of things to do, anyway. I'll leave you my mods library just in case you get bored.

I'M NOT GOING ANYWHERE! :D

And no Lucas ("the Prince of Darkness") electrics? What is this world coming to?

And no Amal carbs! My brothers 650 Bonneville had 2 of them. They would sync at idle or sync at speed but they would NEVER sync at both ends of the spectrum. You had to choose one or the other.

My brother imported it from Germany when he discharged from the Army. It came into Long Beach, CA. Customs tore the whole thing appart looking for drugs. Took the heads off, pulled the cylinders, it was a mess.

Of course they don't put anything back together. So we had a virtually new basket case. My brother was THRILLED!

Amazingly, I think all the parts ended up being there in the box they gave us.

Can I send my windshield to ya for an autograph...LOL
Sorry to hear about the issues, but it will be cool seeing all of the mods you do to your new ride. Glad to see you will be sticking around with us.

Nice thing is your new ride came from the factory with a hand brake lever already attached. Now lets see how long it takes for ya to get used to having one of those again.

And a kickstand again! When ever I take my other bike out, I have to think whats next when I pull it in the garage. i have gotten so used to "shut it off and hop off" with the Spyder.

Anyway, thanks Dude for all your contributions, advice and mod testing.

:congrats: on the new bike, enjoy!

BRP not Sympathetic to dealers and customers

I have had my yellow spyder for about a year and a half. I also have an SE HD Vrod and a Buell. I also own a motorcycle safety training school here in Eastern Washington. For the first time I am considering selling the Spyder even though I enjoy riding it and do ride it more than the other two bikes. The reason is when my selling dealer could not sell the full line of BRP products (hard to sell snowmobiles in the desert) they pulled his franchise. Two days after this I received the steering recall notice. Now I need to take my Spyder 250 miles for service at a BRP authorized dealer. This does not work well with me. In the economic times we are having across our country manufacturers should be helping dealers stay in business to keep selling product and to take care of existing loyal customers. Will I buy another BRP product? Probably not knowing I may not have a dealer in 500-1,000 miles. Anyone want to buy a nice yellow spyder.:lecturef_smilie:

Tough situation. Hopefully, someone closer to you will pick up the ball. Hope you can hang on for awhile and see.

ENJOY YOUR NEW ADVENTURE

Ride save and stay in the web...

I always looked forward to reading your post...
Before I found out about the Spyder I had a Street Triple on order.
