• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I Had One Of THOSE Conversations Yesterday...

...While voting!
This is a small Town; we might have 600 residents who are registered to vote. Everybody knows everybody else, and it's a chance to visit a little bit with the friends and neighbors who are there.
I ride the Spyder down to the Town Hall to vote, and I head toward the voter registration tables. There's the normal crew of folks there, and two strangers...
An older gentleman in a suit and tie, and a "Thirty-Something" in a sweatshirt...
This "Kid" jumps me..."Are you the guy on the Spyder?", he asks while I'm exchanging pleasantries and getting signed-in.
"I'm ONE of them; they're getting more and more popular every day.", is my reply.
Judy; the Lady who signed me in; turns to him and says, "They even take their Pomeranian for rides on their motorcycle".
"It's not a motorcycle; it's a... vehicle!", the kid says.
"Did you ride your bike here today?", I ask with a big smile.
"No. I don't have one,"

"Oh... I thought not".
With a big smile; I turn and go cast my ballot.

No. They gave me crayons, and I drew pictures of who I wanted to vote for! :D
Actually; voter turnout in New York State was only about 33% this year... :gaah: :banghead:

do you still have to chip your vote in a stone tablet there in your town or do they have a machine

We had pens, and had to mark the little circles, but those pens were very flexible... Every time I tried to mark for my candidate, the pen would bend to the other circle!!! It took me 4 hours, because I had to sneak up on the pen for each mark..

They told me it was a "calibration" issue..:joke::joke::joke:

I just put an "X" through the circle that I wanted... After only three ballots; they finally helped me fill them in! :roflblack:

Stone tablets would be harder to change the answer on.

On subject. I think it is nice when somebody says a nice thing about your ride, 2,3,4 or even 6 wheels, maybe tracks. If asked, say that one is not for me, but to just make poor remarks about another persons ride is just plain rude.
Good answer, Bob

out of all the bikes i have owned, and all were beautiful in my eyes. i get the most thumbs up and complements on my spyder

I've certainly got more positive than negative. I guess that kind of negates the negative to the point that it actually stays in my head about 30 seconds. Some conversations don't even qualify for storage to SHORT term memory.

I rode my Spyder to the polls, yesterday, too. It took three minutes to get there, four minutes to vote . . . and over an hour to get home  . . . I'm not sure how that happened . . . did I mention I was on my Spyder?

So in our area also...

No. They gave me crayons, and I drew pictures of who I wanted to vote for! :D

About 30% turn out...so sad that so few see value in exercising one of our greatest freedoms. When someone starts complaining about (whatever gov't)...I ask "did you vote"...if they did I will listen. If they say no......I say than you don't have a right to complain to me....Nope, I don't understand the "not voting" mentality. :gaah::gaah::gaah:

Bob, technically the kid was right even though he was being an a:cus:hole wanna be! Thought you would like this:th.jpeg

Wheeled vehicle...!!

is the correct discription if the youg'in is to use that term....:roflblack::roflblack: what kind of vehicle would have been my question...:roflblack:
Nice that your in a small town I would go vote then myself but vote by mail to avoid the mayhem....

Voting is kind of like a Social Get-Together in Town...

...A lot like when the Department of Vehicles shows up each Month for a visit. nojoke
Folks will save up their DMV chores, and take care of it, when they're in Town.

What's in a name?

I was a long distance motorcycle rider for a long time and I have to say I have a hard time calling the Spyder a motorcycle. The physics of riding the Spyder are very different from riding a two wheeled vehicle (that's why I bought it). I don't like calling it a trike either because it makes the Spyder sound like a toy, which it most certainly isn't (well at least not a kid's toy). It is also a very different kind of vehicle from the single front wheel "Trikes" that were created from an aftermarket kit. I simply call it a "Spyder" or sometimes " roadster". What difference does it make what it is called? The feeling of freedom and closeness to the outdoors, the thrill of wide open throttle acceleration and the sense of adventure of a thousand mile trip are the same. I am unaffected by what others want to call it. I am just glad I have this choice of vehicles.
