• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. I GOT MY SPYDER BACK TODAY!

Glad to hear it-----

Make sure you wear your helmet!!!:roflblack:

Do you need training wheels since its been so long since you rode?:roflblack:

Good for you! Now you can go ride. :ohyea:

Two more days and I'll have mine. <sigh> I'm so not good being patient.

Helmet

Glad to hear your back in the saddle again.
Even tho Illinois dose not require a helmet --- I noticed you had one on all the time you were in Tn.

Dear Fire Fly----If you are in a state that requires a helmet you could get a ticket for not complying. I happened to talk with a spyder rider who got a ticket for not having one on.. He mentioned that he was going to get his head shaved and a DOT tattoo on the back of his head. That's fine until he's in an accident and the par-medic's think they are pulling off his helmet.

Congrats on getting your Spyder back. Mine is going back to the shop tomorrow. Still acting up on me with the clicking / clunking noise. At least I got to ride it to Mosheim. Right now I don't care if they have it for a couple of weeks as long as it gets fixed 100%. dltang's is getting new wheel bearings and I think mine is needing them too.

Did you guys get new wheel bearings when you had rear tires replaced?

I'm not sure if they did mine or not when I had my first tire done--- but from now on I'm just going to have them done with every rear tire change.

Hi Teresa,

Glad you got your Spyder back :2thumbs:. Everything doing well so far? I recieved the estimate Friday about 4pm, less than 48hrs since i dropped the bike off. So far I have to say Ted's seem to be on top of it. I had them fax the estimate to the ins co but the agent said his computer had just went down and it would be Monday b4 he could do anymore. Hopefully Ted's will get the approval to start on Monday and get the parts ordered. The estimate came in at a little over $3800.00. For those that are wondering......I hit a deer at 70mph Monday (9-28) at 4:30am on the way to work. No real injury (sore right leg for a day), walked away from it.
Counting my blessings ever since. Did not post this on the site knowing everyone would want to see pics and I have no way of downloading them. Maybe Teresa might take some when she is at Ted's and can post them if she wants. Annway, I'am glad your bike is finished and you are riding again. See ya later.

Mike

I don't think they've ever changed the bearings on our Spyders. I know there was some scheduled service that required looking at / replacing the bearings but either we missed that one at the dealer (we don't have the dealer perform every scheduled service) or they didn't do it. We are both basically at 25,000 miles on the original bearings.

Thanks, I certainly appreciate that. Lots of luck involved plus a real testament to BRP and the safety the Spyder provides for us all.

Hi Gene,
Wasn't that Firefly (Dan) who said that while we were sitting outside at Smokies Bar? He's the one who got the ticket in TN and yes, we have to wear helmets here in Michigan.
