• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I got clotheslined!

I think it was Cobranut who got shot, not Jetfixer, Ron.

You know, once or twice I have thought about taking the screen off for a while to see what it feels like. Even though the chances of being clotheslined are very, very low, I have now erased any thought of doing that from my list of possible options.:yikes:

I see that you're alright! That's what I get for speed reading through the posts.

Thankful you are okay. That is frightening. One of my buddies lost a friend who got a highway strap from a semi tangled in his wheels... threw him by locking the bike up on the freeway. :( It's dangerous to have wires, straps, ropes, etc. dangling! My closest call on 2 wheels was a ladder dumped in front of me from a pickup, sliding sideways down the road ... glad I had room to dodge to the shoulder, or...

Yesterday morning while riding to work it was very windy. Without any warning, all of a sudden there was a power line hanging down in front of me. There was no time to react. The road has a 45 mph speed limit, and my gps recorded I was doing 49 mph. I saw the wire a split second before it hit my windshield. It made a nasty sound, but went up and over me. My entire windshield was marked by the impact. I think something else was marked as well! The impact point can be seen just below the chrome section of the windshield, with marks on the chrome, and up the rest of the windshield. The second miracle of the day is that when I got home, all evidence of the impact was able to be polished out! There are no cracks at the mounting screws, and even the plastic chrome shows no damage. You can see in the photos the blurred diagonal line that is the wire. The location of my front dashcam camera indicates the height of the wire above the road. Last photo won't rotate right for some reason.

Very lucky indeed, many have been killed on atv's and dirt bikes when some sicko strings a line across trails.
