• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I felt inspired

I read a thread about a 2 hour farkel and felt inspired.
I ordered 6 - 12" amber light strips from Ebay for $8, waited for them to come in and then installed them today.
I took the mirrors off, slit small holes to slide the LED strips into and test fit them.
Thanks to MOTOSWAMI for the idea of using dental floss and the vacuum to suck it through, then tie to the wires and pull them through. Worked great!!
I installed the LED strips, sealed around them with black silicone.
Used heat shrink butt connectors on the wiring and installed them and checked out my handiwork.

I love this site and the ideas and help on here. I can now see my blinkers even in the bright sun and the cost was less than $10.00 total.

I did the same on the 2011 I used to have and thought some may not know this. Your lights work good and serve the purpose. I found LEDs at Autozone that were "side emitting" instead of the ones you used. Just as bright but smaller.

Sweet!

Nice. Now, take the mirror off. Drill holes to route the wire in the plastic webbing. The way you have it will result in the mirror inside cutting the wire. I have repaired plenty of these where people skip that step. Takes 15 minutes, saves the wire. Joe

Thanks I beg to disagree with you. The wire does not contact the mirror or the mirror mounting bracket in any way. That is why I drilled the hole and went through the bottom and not the top. That is why you will notice that one of the mounting clips is missing on the mirror. I removed it so i could see inside and make sure the wire was routed away from the mirror and away from the adjustable bracket the mirror mounts to.

Joe what do you mean by "route the wire in the plastic webbing".
I plan on putting some LED turn indicators on my Spyder so all help is appreciated.

Thanks

Got me to thinken

What did you connect them to ? Did you splice them onto your individual turn signal wires ? If so, was it hard to find the wires ? Thanks

I spliced then into the turn signal wires coming out of the mirror that in turn plug into the connector on the bike.
