• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I created a monster.

I've wondered about this myself and maybe that's why Dudley doesn't let me drive very often. That's ok, it's fun but I like the no responsiblility of sitting in the back checking out the sights. No room in garage either.....Good luck.

You have a garage? Lucky!

My wife thought she wanted a scooter, so she signed up for the MSF course to learn how to ride. After the first day she came home and said she didn't want a scooter anymore, she could just drive the spyder! At the end of day two I had to go down to the course so she could show off to the other attendees as she drove the spyder home...it was just beginning!

My wife has more than 100,000 miles on 2-wheelers, sold her Ninja last year when she freaked out over my sidecar accident. She feels a lot safer on the Spyder, enjoys driving it, and I rather like riding behind her, especially since I installed the BRP ergonomic passenger pegs. I can ride and doze, a nice combination if you're not driving.

Talked to my wife about her being a part of the modification/maintenance process, & she has no interest in it. She'll gladly hep me if I need it, but generally would rather not be involved in the installation phase.

That's too bad. I'd have enjoyed the time together... :dontknow:

Has been marriage therapy for us. Not that we were having any troubles, but it gave us something new to enjoy together versus the day to day grind. She loves to go for rides.

I did the exact same parking lot thing and ended up finding a good deal on a used SE5 for my wife. The only thing I regret is not having a SE5 of my own. I really like the SE5 and wish I would have waiting instead of getting a Premier Editions SM5!

I am adding a Kliktronic e-shifter. Not a cheap solution to say the least and you still need to clutch.

What drove me to do this is the anal desire to maintain the stock controls when adding custom-made floorboards.

If I had it to do over again I probably would have gotten the SE5, but in too deep with the SM5 so too soon for a replacement.

Pete

You should tell her that! Maybe she'll warm up to the idea with time and with knowing it's a great way for the two of you to spend time together.

Made the mistake of letting my wife drive the Spyder yesterday. Why didn't any of you warn me?? :roflblack:

I told her I had a surprise for her. Took her to a big bowling alley parking lot with lots of room and ran her through the controls and sent her tooling around in 1st gear. Like a good girl she came back every time she had a question. She didn't ride the clutch or brake at all and by her 3rd lap you could tell she was still a little unsure, but getting the hang of it.

It was the highlight of her day, and this morning asked when she was going to get to drive the Spyder again.:gaah:

...and no, I do not have room in the garage or budget for a 2nd Spyder.

Face it, you're screwed so you better start clearing our garage space and saving your lunch money :ohyea:

Too bad you don't have the budget for a 2nd Spyder....So, now what do you plan to ride? :roflblack:
