• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I can't go without a Spyder any longer

I sure I'm glad they don't make cars in batches of one color at a time. Car lots would look funny with all the same color cars sitting there. :roflblack: My work follows the "JIT" system as well and we have found with enough thinking you can find a way to do whatever you need to do for production needs.:yes:

There is a huge difference between production of a high sales volume vehicle in a large factory, and production of a limited production vehicle in a small factory...which is what the Spyder is. Their method works the best for them, so we have to accept that.

At the end of the day, customers can't get the color they want when they want it. If they can't figure out how to change the paint line over quickly, the least they could do is change it over on weekends and paint the same color a week or two at a time instead of a month to deliver customers what they want. The customer should be King or Queen.

Ann, considering your situation I think it's great you have the heart to make a good joke like this.
Good kids toy for later Spyder riding ;)

Anyway glad to hear news and I know it seems a lone way off, but you will get your 2014 and I have a feeling with the new color, the change, etc... You gonna love it! I hope to see you on a ride out here in Cali sometime enjoying your Spyder.

It isn't time; it's money. During the changeover, bikes aren't coming off the line, and for plastic, at least, you are wasting material, as you have to run the machine completely out and then run some neutral material through it to make sure it's cleaned out. I would imagine the painting equipment is pretty similar.

They could do small color runs - BUT WE WOULD BE ASKED TO PAY MORE FOR THE BIKES because of the extra labor/material involved in doing the changeover every week or every few days. It's called "economy of scale," which is one of the benefits of assembly line manufacturing. You're trying to demand that BRP throw that away, but not charge you any extra money. This is a case where the customer is NOT "always right."
