Bringing this forward, I had sent Mike a PM about which speakers he used. Just letting others see what he used and shared again with me via PM.
I want to ask anyone though. Are the specs for the audio output listed anywhere? I know Mike dropped to 2 ohm speakers. Just curious if the output wattage is known or published.
Not even sure I will mod this, but with a planned short trip, I wouldn't mind letting Miss Daisy enjoy some quality music.
Kind of gathering info...the Tune Trapper antenna, some speakers, and maybe a modified set of grilles. Time will tell.
Thanks if anyone can share the technical specs.
PK[/QUOTE......Paul finding out the WATTAGE of the stereo would take help from the CIA or NSA etc.....However from past experience OEM stereo's are usually at the low end of the wattage scale and ( if you paid $5000 extra for the one in your BMW I'm not referring to that one ) I doubt if BRP is any different. I have been using mine for a few months now and have had no problems with any deterioration of sound quality. My best estimate on the WATTAGE would be 18 MAX .......according to the techs at JBL their 2 OHM speakers are designed to be swapped out from the usual 4 OHM variety......if they weren't they would be out of business a long time ago..:roflblack:......JBL is John b. Lansing .....formerly of Lansing Altec fame ......He quit and formed the JBL Corp. which now provides all the High end speakers for Toyt among others.........There were lots of people at SPYDERQUEST who heard my Stereo and told me they were quite impressed .But so far they are being shy here .....Like I said in my PM I don't own stock in JBL, but so many here have complained about the poor quality of the sound .....I did something about it and am very HAPPY with the outcome .......Mike ..............PS anyone who wants to HEAR them ......PM me and we can set up a Demonstration.......
I'm just trying to get a grasp of what is installed from BRP. The honest truth is...I have met a good friend of the son in law, he works for Audio Advisers. I plan to see about a deal of some kind. Just don't want to be :dontknow: if he asks.
JBL is no problem. Let's not discuss Toyota radios...Not JBL, but my oem unit failed just out of warranty, the wifes Corolla failed and was replaced, my Daughters Corolla failed. All 3 2010's. I installed a JVC, got it new at a yard sale. $40 I think. Much, much, much better unit.
