There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. I am REALLY glad...

Well even with all of the 2013 issues you still have to give the BRP folks some credit for trying to improve the Spyder. They could have just stopped with the 2012 model line and just produced different colors for the next 3-5 years. They tried to make it better and maybe did not anticipate all of the side effects. In 2014 I bet they will get it right and by 2015 will have a dynamite lineup with reliable cool running good handling machines. In 2016 they will change everything and start all over again with issues but the Spyder will be getting better and better. Eventually I predict that all of the trikes in the future will be clones of the Spyder.

I am one of those people that did trade, i traded my 2012 RT for a 2013 RT, I am happy as can be, no problems and a great ride, better brakes are a nice thing.

Happy 2013 RT owner

I am very happy with my 2013 RTS. My right foot doesn't seem to be hotter than any other part of my body when the temperature is 98 degrees!! Fun machine.

:agree: Traded my 2010 for a 2013 and I am happier with the swap! The 2010 had a few issues, but only one time with it being in the dealer a month.

2013 Loving it!

:agree: if they had done nothing to the 2013s but BNGs; we'd have screamed about that too! I'm rooting for BRP to continue to improve the Spyder!

A difficult issue indeed. Also feel sorry for those that jumped on 2013's and got one that left something to be desired. That said, there are also a lot of happy campers out there.

RE: First years of anything--I had a 2008 SM5--the only thing offered at that time and was very happy with it. I had NO issues in the 23,500 miles I owned it.

My 2010 RT-S was a premier edition #474. Other than DPS recall--I have not had any major issues with that either.

When it came time I needed another Spyder last summer (July 2012) the 2013's were not even being talked about yet. I opted for a new 2011 holdover and saved a couple thousand. Here, I was thinking saving bucks and sure thing as far as issues. Turned out to be a good move so far. 7,500 miles and NO issues.

What will happen when BRP introduces that new, bigger engined, RT we have been clamoring for? I have a pretty scarry track record on stuff like that. :roflblack:

RE: 2013's. I probably would not buy one of these because I have heard to much negative. There was just to many reported and ongoing issues. I am hoping the information and fixes needed will be put forth in the upcoming 2014's. A lot of us will be eagerly watching that.

On the other hand--2013's will probably have some very deep discounts for those who are so inclined.

I don't see the end of the product, and am hoping that customer satisfaction issues, and dealer mechanical issues will be addressed more than currently is happening.

There do seem to be a lot of people on both sides. 1- Got a 2013 and love it, and 2- got a 2013 and have problems.

Based on what I've been reading, it doesn't seem that the 2013 RT, or RS have any MORE issues than the 2012 and earlier, however, there DO seem to be more issues with the ST over the other models...??:dontknow:

Somewhere a while ago I thought I saw a video or something showing BRP working on some kind of electric/hybrid Spyder?
That might be interesting.

I,m Happy I kept the 2012RT- I was as close as given trade-in estimates on my 09GS and a RXT-X JetSki for the purpose of buying an ST???:yikes:

So the RT is Now my New ST- Only 70 pounds heavier - !

I won,t buy a Spyder with the New Suspension BUT shouldn,t have to for 3-4 Years anyway!!:roflblack:

Have had my 2013 RT-S SE%5 for about a month and have 3100 miles on it . I have run it hard up and down the mountains in 90+ degree heat an d have had no problem with either over heating of right foot/leg heat. Mine was made on May 14th Wednesday). After a little issue with Master control module at which time I had my salesman Call BRP and request a Build sheet for the bike, found out it was built on a Wednesday. That's a good thing sometimes, told my salesman if the bike was put on the build line on a Monday or a Friday pull another one I won't take a bike built on either of those days. It all worked out great, module from BRP took two weeks to get to US but once it was here and installed bike has run great..

As has been said, some better than others

as with any model year. We love our 13' and after riding the 12' that was a leftover with a nice discount, I am glad we decided on a 13'.

I loved my 2010 RTS and I had relatively few problems with it in 59,148 miles when I traded it in on a 2013 RTS. Am I having problems - yes. Am I unhappy that I traded in my 2010 - no Do I have faith that there will be a fix for the problems that I have experienced - yes Do I love my Spyder - yes, yes yes I do.

2013 ST

I noticed that all the posts from happy 2013 owners are those with RT's. I traded in my 2009 GS SM5 that I had lovingly converted into a ST without ever knowing it. I had 4" risers, mirror extenders, BRP hard bags, and Rivco floor boards. I had a BajaRon anti sway bar and 2012 RT shocks and Corbin seats. It rode great, handled like a dream, and I can truthfully say that the only time it went to the dealer was oil changes and routine service. The only thing it was missing was a warranty and decent brakes. In May, after I returned from Spyderfest I took a demo ryde on a ST Limited. It handled well, had a tighter turning circle, and would stop on a dime. I also loved the SM5 since I do a lot of stop and go driving. I did notice a little more heat around my left knee, but thought I could handle that, so I bit the bullet and jumped in head first. What did I get? A beautiful bike that stops on a dime and a seven year warranty BUT it also came with extremely sloppy, floppy handling, a windshield that was so distorted that I couldn't see through and I had to replace, and a bike that coughs and sputters at low speeds and a melting master cylinder. I attempted to upgrade to Fox adjustable racing shocks and a beefed up sway bar, but they are on back order. I placed Thermo Tec on the inside of the left panel and that reduced the heat some on my knee, and it's going to the dealer on Friday to try to get rid of the stutter and probably replace the cap on the master cylinder with the exact same cap so it can melt again. Am I a happy Spyder Ryder? Not so much right now. Am I ready to throw in the towel? Not in this lifetime. I love ryding a Spyder and I really would love to love this Spyder. If BRP will just come through with a solution to this heat problem. Not for my comfort, but for my safety! If the necessary parts for upgrading the suspension will ever come off of back order so I can enjoy the ryde, then I will once again be a happy Spyder Ryder. Tell me guys, am I asking for too much? I don't think so.
