• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I plan the same here in the alps - but sometimes 2up !! it seems you have everything you need - maybe a bottle-holder and a largeer tank-bag ??

I took the cheapest one for a bicycle - less than 10 dollars - was easy to fix with 2 screws in the plastic ..
(looking for a "black-bottle-Sponsor ;) )

I've been looking about doing the same thing. Just curious why you mounted on right side. Unless you have a throttle lock you won't be able to use the bottle of (fill in the blank) unless you are stopped. If you mounted on the left side you could take a drink while still moving. Am I missing something about the left side?

Well done :2thumbs: Now off you go and you will have to get back to us on the results of all the hard work in getting yourself set up. We have seen several mentioning long distance rydes and what they need to make it better but you do have a nice set up....:thumbup:

So what else do you need. My first 10 years consisted of a bag strapped to the rear seat. I gotten soft over the next 35 years of riding but I could still do it if I had to.

The point is: just go out and do it. Tune up as you go along.
 
What windshield? It appears to attach to the 4 mounting stock holes? Look bigger than my MRA universal windshield. With most smaller windshields you get a LOT of side winds because their not wide enough.

Can you show your A-frame (or whatever frame) you made for your saddlebags to not touch the wheel/fender? I'm receiving the same ones this week.

To support the saddle bags, I went to my local Wally World and purchased 2 metal yard sticks. I simply slid the yardsticks through the Max mount and them bent them down on each side and it works just fine.

Looks like a CalSci (which is what I have, much better than the stock/optional).
 
RykerUSA, I see they come with a variety of straps. How did you fit them under your 'top bag'? I have a Chinese Givi box, wonder if the straps would fit under it. Do they go over the top of the Max Mount or through it like the yard sticks? I'm through with long distance touring but want to be able to take it on a week long trip or two.
 
My saddlebags are just laying over Max Mount. My Top bag is strapped to Max Mount over the saddle bag center support band. I cut off all of the straps from the saddle bags as I do not use them. I have one bungee cord that straps across the front of 1 saddle bag underneath the Max Mount and attaches to the other saddle bag holding them together in position. I have not taken them out on the interstate yet but I'm pretty confident that this will work.

Yardsticks go through the Max Mount and then you just bend them down to the form/position of the Max Mount so that they are hanging down on each side supporting the bags away from the wheel and clearing the swing arm.

By "yardstick" do you mean a regular metal 36 inch ruler?
