• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I will give you the long version because it is march and in northern Wisconsin it is still winter.I will do this in a few posts. Let me start by telling you about me I type with 2 fingers only so understand I am not a typing expert. I feel the man who invented the keyboard should be kicked why did he not start with A B C but they scattered them all over.I owned a 1984 Honda interstate for many many years and had a few close calls my wife would not ride anymore so in 2008 we looked at the spyder we wanted a touring model but when we seen the price there was just no way we could afford it.

In September I was looking on cragslist and there was a 2012 RT S SE5 for sale it was what we were looking for. It only had 530 miles on it. I purchased it for 17 thousand. Well guess what I found out the bank has lot of money but first to test drive

When we got there I did not even know how to start it so they started it for me and away me and my wife went. I was following a car and it stopped at a light so I took my right hand and tried to apply the brake now imagine my surprise when I found out they forgot to put brakes on it just before I hit the car I used my foot brake and stopped. I told my wife now that we know how to stop I think we will like it haha My 2 fingers are tired out more next time.

Welcome, Wecome & Welcome

To: nytro and MrBlonde.....Glad you found Spyderlovers and have joined this band of merry ryders. :congrats:

Welcome to the wonderful world of Spyders. I, too originally looked in 2009, but funds did not allow. Last November bought a 2011RS-S.
Weather has hampered my riding, but I get out whenever possible. As a new rider I am taking it slow, ride an hour or so at a time for now.
Riding classes begin on March 24, then my learner's permit will become an actual license.
:welcome:

:welcome: and :congrats: on your new :spyder:. Hopefully you have the owners manual that comes with the :spyder:. Read thru it several times and spend lots of time here on Spyderlovers. You will get the hang of it in no time!:yes:

Just got the manual out of the pouch in the frunk and it's a bit damp and soggy so it's now drying out so I can read it without the pages falling apart :L

Ride safe and enjoy our beautiful State on your Spyder.

:welcome: :congrats: Yep, going from 2 wheels to 3 does take a bit for a mind adjustment,
But It doesn't take long.....I love my Spyder...it is definately a blast to ryde.

I was so excited to have it so for a few day I spent all my free time riding. Now I know smart thing to do would be use free time and read the manual but riding is a lot more fun. Well I did read the owners manual 1 hour after I bought it. I cant believe the same people that took my brake away hid the gas tank hahahah I am sitting by the gas pump trying to find out how to raise the seat. if you remember I bought it with 530 miles and I had 800 miles when I read the manual opps need a oil change at 600 so 200 over I talked to a local dealer I was worried I also had the extended warrantee but he said 200 over is no big deal.

In September they have a fall ride here and I meet someone with a spyder and he said did you ever check out spyderlovers.com? I want to say this its just the best for me I got a lot of information and it is more fun than reading the manual. By the way over winter I did read the manual.
Next time I will tell you about what I am planning in the future.

:welcome: and :congrats: on the new ryde. Watch out for the deer in WI. My last motorcycle ryde before I moved, I had a deer run out in front of me and had to grab the brakes and make avoidance actions. I left a long skid mark. The nanny on the :spyder2: will help with that if the situation arises.
