• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I am impressed with Carlo' and BRP's attitude

This is a follow up to the "First non-riding impressions" thread.
I decided to create a separate thread for it, just so I could share with you easier. (I am sorry if duplication bothers someone...)

After my unpleasant experience at Ledgewood Powersports and posting my initial thread, I have received a PM from Carlo, trying to help by getting involved.

I called him back this morning, but only now was able to speak to him personally. Very nice man! Real pleasure to talk to!

Anyway, evidently sometime between yesterday and today the dealership was contacted by BRP and today I received a reply to my initial thread from Ledgewood GM.

Here you go:
http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showpost.php?p=342990&postcount=27

All I wanted to say at this point is that it is very encouraging to know that the company is on your side (at least so far!) and it is NOT just you at the mercy of a dealer anymore!

I do intend to follow up with Noelle and will keep you all posted, as I am sure that there are more people locally who would appreciate this info.

Cheers!

Once again Carlo comes through. It sure looks to me like BRP is trying. They are a big company and will oftentimes not move at the speed we as individuals would like, but Carlo has helped many of us over the last year and I see that as a good sign and positive trend

Need more BRP Reps like Carlo. He will be over whelmed and not be able to help like I know he wants to. BRP needs to established a rep per Sales area. Not just a few for the world. Bob

If you don't mind me asking what is Carlo's member name. I e-mailed him about 2 days ago and still have not heard back.

Thanks,

I have to say that I for one am impressed. After being involved with BMW for so long, you get to expect and hope for a certain level of professionalism granted, still rare in the motorcycle world. My wife wants a White RT Limited of which I was also impressed with.

My concern has been shelling out $30K for something that might have a very.....er.....iffy...support structure. Posts like this go a long way to alleviate that concern. My impression is that BRP is working hard to address the dealer/professionalsm/product knowledge/etc issues.

My new K1600GT BMW was in the neighborhood of $30K as well but they have been building and selling Motorcycles since 1923 long before they ever thought of building cars.

Thanks for getting me excited about getting Mz Pam a new Limited.

This is posted already in your other thread but I didn't want you to miss my opinion !!! :roflblack:

Don't fall for their let me make it up to you attitude !!! You would be crazy to let them reel you in to make a bigger mistake and purchase from them. :cus: them. What that salesman was trying to do to you was, a stronghold tactic to make you buy one because they don't last long on the showroom floor. Thats BS !!! If you purchase from them they will never learn there lesson. You already know what you want so, call around to find the best price then test drive it at ledgewood (because thats your closest dealer) and then tell them how you really feel about them and purchase elsewhere.

These differences between dealers is getting out of hand and the word needs to be spread how :cus: up most of these dealers are regarding Spyders. Just hit them where it hurts and purchase elsewhere. Don't fall for them throwing in a t-shirt with purchase either.

1. Why did this happen to you in the first place ?
2. Who reimburses you for your time wasted already ?
3. Who reimburses you for your gas wasted to and from ?
4. Why do they not have any Spyders on the showroom floor ?
5. Does that salesman still work there (uncomfortable when you see him again he must have got in trouble, but I doubt it) ???

A salesman wrote you and said you could personally test drive his Spyder. This should tell you that they still have no Spyders available for test rides. What kind of business are they running there ??? I could just imagine how :cus: up there service department is with these business practices. All salemen kiss up to you during the sale and forget your name in a few days after sale. With all that aside what really counts is the service department so it's your call in the end.

Wake up BRP in regards to your dealers. Because if you don't have a big enough fan base with owners satisfaction and potential owners soon, alot of us will spit on BRP as soon as Arctic Cat or the big four makes a similar product. nojoke JMO

There is a lot of truth and logic in your reply, ARNTUFUN.

I said the same thing to Carlo today about fan base and loosing lots of customers just for the lack of demo bike alone, not to mention the SERVICE.

Like you said, the sale is the easy part!

Are we still in love with the dealer "after the loving" ???

Remember this? (Damn, I must be old....Nah! I am a musician )

I have been going to Legdewood now for almost 2 years ( did not buy from them ) and the only reason I have been going there is Joe the services manager and Bob the spyder mechanic are great I trust Bob to work on my spyder but I have to say that the last few time l have been there I have felt less than welcome and have also heard from many owners that I have sent there that they also were not really welcomed there with one even saying that he was told by an older guy you did not buy from us why not go back to where you got it we don't really want or need any more business.

I called a few times this week in regards to the problem I am now having after the BRP cluster update and asked to speak to Joe could not get him on the phone left on hold 4 time for over 10 min till I hanged up finally I asked does Joe still work there and was told he is very busy and can't leave what he doing so I told this person who claims he is now doing all services calls what my problem is and ask if I can could come down to check it out now I know for a fact it will not take long to check it out on the buds but this person also said they don't have time to check it out for the next 2 to 3 week as well kind of gave me the run around after asking who I was and when I told him what my spyder looks like and after he put me on hold to ask who even was around now he did not know he did not really put me on hold so I could hear what was said. The problem we all face is there is not a large dealer network in place and we are at the mercy of the few dealer around and spyder sales is only a small part of there business and for what I am told that BRP does not pay well for work that these dealer do on the spyders and that makes dealer shy away from work. Noelle I have been told is the owner of Ledgewood Powersports so of course if there is a problem that is on the forum she will respond, business is business and no one wants a bad names.

Sad story... but that is the impression I had from the whole shop...

I do hear that Bob is very good!

But what's the point if he is the only one?

He must be swamped!

Noelle is the Daughter of the original owner, She runs [Owns] the business. Their service dept. [shop] as you must know is very small 10 by 10? So a sick Spyder can tie them up. BRP is notorious for slow parts delivery to their dealers. Their showroom isn't much larger [not that there's any thing wrong with that]
That would explain why they can't have a bunch of Spyders assembled and setting out side in their open air storage yard.

Try "CRM".

Amazing guy that Carlo...... It took him a few days to get back to me but for the price of things being done correctly and him investigating i am VERY please....
