• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well after a few blows with Maryland MVA :banghead:- I have registration and tags.

I thought I would share my first day and night experience of my first legal ride of about 100 miles.

I decided to compare my riding experience and vehicle differences with my FZ1 and share my perspective where the Spyder was equal to or better than my current toy. My 2003 Yamaha FZ1 is 159bhp, 500 pounds, 45mpg, and of course made in Japan (it has had zero issues/failures since new).

My Stock SPYDER
1. Headlights - equal
2. Seat - way more comfortable
3. Riding ergos - equal
4. Horn - equal
5. Fun to ride on the street - equal (of course in different ways).
6. Riding in parking lots/slow speed maneuvers - far superior
7. Sense of presence to others - superior

Yes, even some Marylanders did take notice of my Spyder. I had one fellow pass me on the left briefly and then all of sudden he was behind me- he did a double take. I stopped at 7eleven for a beverage and did get one photo op (he even asked permission) and three fellows asking questions.

I stopped by my brother's home for dinner and everyone at his home happen to have motorcycles and they just loved the Spyder.

So, this old man is a happy man, loving his new/used (365 miles) Spyder and has retired from the super fast lane of motorcycles. O'K you will still probably find me in the fast lane and fast turns but I'll be on my Spyder.

Thank you all for your honest views of the Spyder and sharing your joy of riding it - - it certainly was key in my decision to purchase one.

I'm here in MD too...not a lot of spyders as of yet...but there'll be more!

Glad you got things straightened out at the MVA...if you were in Frederick, a friend of mine was behind you as they tried to figure out what the spyder is!
