• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I Am Amazed no one has mentioned the 'New Look' site!

this new forum comes up to the discussion page, which is the headlines of topics. Click on the "What's New" header icon, and you will have the up to date posts
And if you've just been scrolling thru the Forums, and opened a thread by clicking on the thread title, there's a 'Jump to New' button on the top right just above the first post in the thread - next to the 'Watch' button. Clicking on 'Jump to New' will take you directly to the first post in the thread that your cookies show you haven't yet seen... ;)

And if you just want to go to the last post in any thread, that can be achieved by clicking on the Date/Time line for that thread on the far right of the page, just above the name of the last person who posted. (y)

AFAICS, almost all of the same functionality of the 'old' platform is available on this new platform, just not always accessed the same way - so if you want to do something that you used to be able to do, you might hafta look for it a bit, or maybe ask in the Forum Support & Testing section or by DM to a Mod; but the chances are that it's here somewhere. ;)

This is my first time back since Friday or Saturday. I like the new look,I hope I can learn all the tricks soon

I like the new software. The Tactical style is too hard on my eyes so I will leave it in default. I don't see how to change the font size, I would like bigger if possible. Thank you to all the behind-the-scenes people who made this transition so smooth. I'm sure it wasn't on your end, so Good Job!

found the font size for my posts but what about the forum in general? Can that be done?
What did you use for your post font size?? The 2 different sized T buttons above the text entry screen?? :unsure:

As for the Forum in general, try this, it's a bit of a hike tho, and there's no gurantees, I'm still not quite as familiar with this platform as I'd like to be... buuut:

  1. Click on the Envelope up in the top right, by your username up there, hopefully that'll bring up the Direct Messages page;
  2. At the top of that page, under the Home menu line, you should see another menu line starting with 'Your News feed';
  3. Go out to the Right, and click on 'Your Account' (not 'Your Profile');
  4. That'll bring up a page with your 'Account Details' highlighted in the Left Hand column, below that a bit, click on 'Preferences';
  5. On that page, the Right Hand side will have Style at the top, and below that, Font Size, most likely with 'Medium' selected;
  6. On the far Right there should be a pair of Up/Down arrows, click on that, and select Large or Extra Large;
  7. Then Save the page, and I believe you'll only need to log out and then log-in again to make the change apply, but you might need to clear cookies, etc, maybe even turn your machine off & then on again... :rolleyes:
Over to you, and please tell us if that works for you. We're all on a bit of a learning curve here... ;)

So I ended up clicking on my profile picture next to the envelope. That took me to a dropdown menu, I scrolled down to "my account" and the rest was as you detailed. Thanks Peter, you sent me in the right direction.
