Hurricane Fried the Electronics - need to release Parking Brake! Ideas?

Hello ... My 2015 Spyder F3S was completely submerged in Hurricane Helene. All the electronics are fried, and I cannot release the parking brake to even push it out. The Spyder is totaled and just a huge paperweight.

Can someone please tell me what I need to do to release the parking brake. I appreciate all options and there is no reason to even be concerned about any damage I may cause!

If the water level permits, remove the parking brake lever on the rear caliper by undoing the 13mm (1/2in) bolt. The Spyder will roll even if in gear because the clutch is engaged hydraulically. Sad to hear you lost your riding buddy.

Sorry to hear about your loss

Since damage isn't an issue, you could just cut the parking brake inner cable with a pair of bolt cutters.

Just a thought - if you are going to total it out, there are a lot of parts on it that could be sold as used parts! Myself, I have seen a lot of stuff that got dunked; out boards, sleds, even cars, that were dried and reborn. I am not saying it will work in this case, but I'd maybe try it before giving up. There are a lot of parts that could be salvaged on that chassis.

But if the OP has insurance, it may be better to forgo getting into the used Sypder parts business and put that money down on a new/new to him Spyder!
