• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

sore spot

Was talking to a guy the other day and I mentioned I'm retiring 1 January. He asked how long I've been working. I said 44+ years. He asked if I had been with the same company all that time. I said no, I've been with this company 24 years after serving 20 years in the Air Force. He say's, well then, so you've only had a real job for 24 years. Uh, say that again. Now this guy's in his mid twentys, by his own admission has had three jobs, none lasting longer than two years. He's a college grad with a degree in business management. Now I know why our economy is in such trouble. I did tell him he needs to get a grip on reality and spend some time with some vets. What I really wanted to do was kick his sorry a%#. But that would have been a waste of time and energy.

That's like hitting a sore spot with a hammer for me. I never had the opportunity to serve as many of my friends and family have and some still do. But I am the biggest Patriot you will ever run into. I support retired and Active Military 110% !! I have supported the "Run for the Wall" for the last 8 years. My Father, Brother (both are no longer with us), Both my sons (one still serving 11 years and counting) have served. My daughter inlaw and Son are duel military and she is deployed at this time, they have a 3 year old on base with the dad and Yes,, the dad could be deployed as well, leaving the grandson with one of the grandparents. The military is not family friendly most of the time. I admire those who can stick it out. Lets face it, you spent 20 years on one job but that job was 24/7 !! People who haven't served don't understand that you are at the beck and call of the military even when your on leave. You can be called in any time of the day or night. It is not easy by any means. I could go on and on but I am sure others will have plenty to say about that moron you spoke to. He's lucky he's not speaking German or Japanese. He needs to study some history.
I thank all you Veterans for your service.
Stan

I don't fault anyone who hasn't served. My dad was discharged after six months service during WWII because of medical issues. Three of us kids out of six were serving during the Viet Nam war. My youngest brother served 4 years in the Navy late '70s early '80s. My younger brother never served because the draft ended and he didn't want to serve. No big deal, that was his choice. If you have a reason for not serving I have no issue with that. If you don't agree with the war, don't take it out on the GI, they're just doing a job that they signed up for. I may not like the way your company operates, but I'm not going to blame you for it just because you work there.

All of them have served in more than one war or as we say now to be politically correct. "Conflict"

I'm damn proud of my military family and I am proud of them that they do not even tell people they served or advertise it, they did it because they wanted to serve their country and are humble about it.. I asked my husband one day why he did not tell people he was a vet or even put anything with "Navy" on it? his reply was.. I know what I did for my country. It was a privilege and honor and I did it so others would not have to...
That boy had no idea what honor and humility is. And he can thank a vet for the right to be stupid!

I personally want to thank all of you who have served and are serving because you ROCK!
