Two ideas

Pro: Using this to view a GPS map will keep you from having to look down to find the GPS mounted on your handlebars.

Con: It weighs a little over half a pound. That could be tiring on long trips.

I think the concept is VERY cool. In fact I could have been talked into owning one to 'give it a go' BUT...

Its offered by a new company with NO navigation experience and it contains its own built in GPS device and maps. Who will support this long term? How good is the maps and navigation?

They really should have concentrated on the display and interface controls and tied it in to an established mapping vendor. An ideal marriage would have been something like Android Auto but it could have integrated with a Garmin unit as well.

I would like to see this sort of tech progress further but this particular implementation screams obsolete even before I use it the first time. And the price is a BIT steep.

Too soon...

For me anyway...looks like the camera to read the instruments is in the unit meaning you would have to coordinate head movement and vision to get your readings . I don't care about the gps cause if I use it I use the audio part unless stopped, But they will get there maybe a bluetooth from the instrument panel to the unit where head movement will not affect the view...:dontknow:

I love the idea. I think its priced to high. If it also included driver to rider or driver to driver communication then I'd seriously think about buying one at this price.

That said, a standard waterproof GPS unit alone is like $300-$500. A blue tooth headset with speakers to listen to music is $100. If you take all the things this provides and look at them individually the price doesn't seem so unrealistic. It's one device replacing 2 or 3 and then it has the added ability of the HUD.

I don't see it as any more a distraction than looking down at a "mounted" GPS.
