• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Howling sound when backing up =

Backing noise

I just lightly feather my brake and I can get the sound to stop while backing. It took a little time to get the right touch, but works well.

2008 GS SM5, still get the HOWL ocassionaly when backing up. Also still get get the brake howl/squeal when stopping. Ya they say the new gen brake pads kinda /sorta/ somewhat eleminate the problem, but hammer on the brakes once or twice and it goes away for a while... HMMMMMMM

I hate it when I'm driving slowly near a large crowd of people, come to stop, and as I slow up.....eeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkk......lol. Just really takes some points off the cool scale. lol

Back up noise on Spyder

I was told that the noise comes from when you back up the belt moves over another set of teeth, then when you move forward the belt moves back. I was also told that there is a belt dressing that you apply that takes the noise awa

Howling sound when backing up

When I back my 2012 Spyder up slowly into my garage, I hear this loud howling sound. I took it to the dealer and the guy at the desk said, "You mean like this?" and came out with a perfect replica of the sound. "Don't worry about it. It's nothing. They all do it." "What causes it?" "It's the brake pads vibrating against the calipers. They all do it." Does YOURS do it? If so, it's a design flaw and the company should be jumping through hoops to make it right.

My 2012 Spyder Limited also when backing up makes this sound like the brake is on but its not. I don't have the foot on the brake either. This happened before and they said the brake caliper was not releasing and they sprayed something on it and it has worked for about 9 months. Now it is doing it again. If you don't take care of it they say it will ruin the brake pads. They had to replace them at 9,000 miles and they were going to charge me for them. I said I don't think so. It wasn't my fault nor was it the brake pads, it was mechanical messup and it should be under warranty. SO, they didn't charge me for new pads or labor.
