• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I am pretty handy with stuff, but there is two things that freak me out....pushpins and clips....i like nuts and bolts. Every time i remove push pins and clips they tend to stretch, break etc and never go back snugly. Want to install nbv pegs....question is....
What is the best way to extract the pushpins?
How do i unclip the black deflector at the bottom there is two rubber pins that seems to have pushed in from the top down?

Tx, seen it, problem is that it starts at the point where the black deflector is of and the push pins is out. The nits and bolts of the install is fine, i think lamonster actually says that he started filming after taking those of.

To remove the push pin use a small flat headed screwdriver to pry the center pin out of the housing. If you look closely you will notice that the head of the push pin has an indentation that will allow you to insert the screwdriver head under the post head. Pry upwards and the post will easily separate from the pin body. I tend to remove the whole pin, post and body, so I can keep track of the components when it comes time to re assemble. I have done this more times than you can count and never had to replace a pin due to damage. I do however admit to losing a few over the years when being too aggressive with my removal technique.

Once you remove the push pin and bolt from the top edge of the Black Deflector you can simply unhook the bottom edge from those two posts you see under the fin. When re mounting the deflector I loosely attach the bolt/push pin first and then bend the deflector bottom edge slightly until it re engages on the aforementioned posts. Once the posts are seated and the bolt/push pin are tightly secured the deflector should be pretty solid.

I always buy about a dozen to keep as spares... I tend to not only break them; I also lose them in the darndest places! :opps:
I try grabbing the top with a set of needle-nosed Vice Grips nad give them a little yank...

I think we just found why you have a tendency to break them.....:roflblack: :joke:

Thank you guys, i removed two pins without damaging a thing. Had half hour between jobs today and removed everything on the right and fitted the right footpeg, replaced all the plastic bits and it worked out well. So now need to find another half hour for the left side! And a five hour trip to test them!!

I never said that i was the BEST way to remove them... :roflblack: :opps:

I'm too much of a Klutz to be playing with a knife blade that close to the surface of the bike... :yikes:

Don't think you should admit doing that in public, Bob!! :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Don't forget to make sure the hooks at the front edge are properly hooked. The lower one is sort of an insert hook and the upper one just hooks around. Easy to get it all done and then find that the front edge is not held in position. Have to start all over.

Agree, the two hooks up front work against each other need some dexteritry to slip, hook and press at the same time.
