• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How to? - Shortee antenna/CB cable

SilverSurfer

RT-S PE#0391
So okay ... I have two shortee Antennas ... one will replace the existing RT-S whip for AM/FM/NOAA.

The other I want to install on the opposite side of the trunk, and then adapt a CB cable with which I can do one of two things:

1) Have the cable tied and ready to use in my trunk so in an emergency, I can get off my Spyder and hook it into my Midland 75-822 Portable CB in case I'm stuck on the side of the road (e.g. on Northern I-87 toward Lake Placid where there is no cell reception) and need more range; or ...

2) Wearing my portable CB, I want to run the cable from the antenna to tie and stow in the space between the passenger backrest and the passenger seat. This way I could theoretically hook to to my Midland while ryding.

The basic question is: What parts / cable do I need to make my second shortee a into a CB antenna (the scenarios were for drama and effect ;) )?
