• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How to save a few bucks on tax software

If you, like me, have a relatively uncomplicated federal income tax to file; and
you use H&R Block tax software; and
you receive the CD copy in the mail; and
you like to use the version you install on your PC; then
this suggestion is for you.

Begin the install process using the CD, and when you get to the check out page be sure to put in the $10 off code included with the CD. Input your credit card info, then STOP. Click the X in the upper right corner to exit the program. You will immediately be offered a popup dialog giving you the chance to save an additional $5. Click to accept the savings and then proceed to click purchase. You will have a chance to buy your state return for $10, which is regularly $29.95 full price.

In doing comparisons on other online retailers I have found that the final price of $19.95 for the Deluxe version is about the best price there is. I used to buy the Basic version for $14.95 from Wally World but the additional $5 is worth it to go to the Deluxe version and save the hassle of going to WM to buy it. I do not know what the savings would be for the Premium version but I suspect it would the same, or more.

I hope this helps a few of you to save a few bucks!
