• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How to remove the rocker switch console?

I have been studying the diagram and know there are just plastic clips on the back side of this piece but what is holding it on closest to the glove box?
I have it ready to come out but can't find a clip or bolt.

Thanks.

Interesting. ...

Looking at the parts diagram it looks like the tabs and the side panels hold it in place. Hang in there those that know will be along to let you know...:dontknow:

There is one of those plastic push pins in there. If you unhook the cable to the glovebox lid, unplug the electrical connection that comes from the switches on the right side, and take out 4-10 mm bolts the whole glove box and switch area will come off. of course the side panels and such will have to come off.

It's a royal pain to remove and replace. The handlebars get in the way. Just had to rewrire some things in there.. It's very easy to pull a connector loose by accident.
Have your bucket of curse words ready.

I found the push pin, although it's no longer useful. I pulled it out and lost one of the pieces to the darkness.
There are 4 others (2 on each side) and the 4 bolts so it's secure and I see no issues with the missing pushpin for now.

Thanks.

I haven't had that middle pushpin in for years.

Removing it isn't difficult but as stated it is a real PIA.

I don't remember the step by step but in general here goes.
After you get the tupperware off and the acoustic panels off it is mostly held together with the push pins and tie wraps.
There are a few pins that are vertical.
You will also need to cut the tie wraps that hold the cable to glove box.

There are also (I think) four torx screws that need to be removed tucked up under the console.

Good luck.

It's been a while since I had mine apart but it can be done.

See my Tri-axis handlebar install videos as in those I show removal of switch panel.

The videos are in the DIY section.
