• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How old were you when you bought your spyder? what are your thoughts on it?

58.... we are lovin the RT... seems like there are 2 out of 100 that don't care that much for it... 98% happy... that ain't bad for a newbe!

63

I was 63 when I bought the 2009 SE-5 in March, 2009. In the 16 months I've had it, I put on almost 22,000 miles. I love this bike! I'm riding again and I don't have to worry about holding it up or sliding out of control on gravel, or riding on wet pavement. I ride 12 months of the year with the exception of maybe three days when we had snow on the roads last Winter.

I love everything about the Spyder, and have only had minor problems with mine. :2thumbs:

There is nothing better than riding my Spyder.......well.....maybe GOLF. ;)

old question

I thought of this after my trip to Florida and met up with Doc and forest.

I was 28 years old when I got mine in Febuary from Honda House in St. Cloud MN and it has kept me going.

Its not as fast as I would like on the top, it has good midrange and I can keep ahead of the novice rocket riders on a twisty run and I can get off and on it faster than getting my wheelchair in and out of my truck or car.

I also have 18,896ish for miles on it right now.

I was 72 and now I am 73 in june. It is getting to hard to hold up a two wheeler when one has bad knees.

Not sure if I already responded and too old to waste time checking.

Bought it at 59, just turned 60 yesterday.

Waiting for the heat and rain to let up some so I can get back on the road.

I'm 65 and bought my RTS PE#00069 this past April. My wife was wanting me to get a "bike" for some time, but I didn't want to ride here in FL on a two wheeler. Saw the ad on TV while visiting relatives in Maryland. Came back to FL and test drove a:spyder2: and bought it the same day and took her home. Also bought the 622 for long distance cruising. I love the way it handles and never worry about losing my balance with my wife on board.:2thumbs:

April 15, 2008, more fun than any 2 wheeler I've owned. Beginning to wonder if BRP is trying to kill it by messing with dealers, though.

69.5

After being pressured by my brother (a Goldwing owner) to get a bike so that we could do some touring together, I decided that three wheels under me would be a better choice.
I'll turn 70 in December and the RT is my first cycle. Both of my sons ride, and we hope to do a family ride next spring.

age

i am 61 got my spydiee this june been on two wheels for over 45 years do not think will ever go back the :spyder2: is way to much fun i almost say its better then sex, na but its in second place for sure. ride safe and often , :2thumbs:

Was 39 and a bit.
Would still like to have a 2 wheeler also, and a car for the bad weather,, but thems the choices... and we can't have everything all the time.

Age

I had been thinking about the Spyder after seeing it at the race track in Rockford, IL in ‘08. My wife saw me looking at Ebay for an idea about the pricing and location of a used Spyder. She liked the looks of the Spyder and the safety aspects of it and asked if I would like one for my 50th birthday. :clap:We all know if the wife say’s its ok to spend $18K you don’t wait long enough for her to change her mind. Picked out one the next day, 7 months before my birthday, and loving every minute on the Spyder.:2excited:

Just turned 52 and bought my RT-S as a birthday present. I also have my 2001 Honda Valkyrie Interstate motorcycle and my very fast trick truck, a 2003 Ford F-150 Harley-Davidson 100th. Anniversary Edition (with Super Charger), along with a small car and minivan, did I mention my riding lawnmower as well :helpsmilie:? What is it they say, "A boy and his toys"?

:roflblack:

I was 31 and Spydergirl was 27 when we bought the first one.

I was 32 and Spydergirl had just turned 29 when we took the first one across country. Six thousand miles, 600 pictures, 61 stops for gas. It was tough, but fun and worth it. I'm now going through the process of documenting that trip so we never forget it. We've had 26000+ fun-filled problem free miles with no regrets.

I was 33 and Spydergirl was 29 when we bought the second one.

I'm like you SethO, I was 28 when I got my Se5. Also a paralized rider, when I was riding my Busa I wasen't a fan of the Spyder but being injured we are painted into a box of what we can ride. Its either the trike Wing, Harley or Spidee.

Now I don't mind the looks but being that heavy the performance is a bit slow compared to what I used to ride. They should have left the original Aprilli engine in it to handle the weight better. And the extreme engine heat is like having a camp fire under your junk.

All in all for a downed rider it's a great way to ride again.

Knee replacements

Dear no name, Please write me an email about your knee operations. I think that after the Gatlinburg affair I will have to have those operations. Send me an email telling me about your experience with the operations.
