• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How old were you when you bought your spyder? what are your thoughts on it?

The last few years [15] I would go up and down with bikes.
TL1000 + Valk - SV650 + VTX 1800, Then along came the Spyder.
Purchase it on the spot no test ride . After 40 years i never thought
i would get off of two wheels.
The biggest selling point for me is that i can ride all winter.
It also doesn't hurt having a reverse.,

Oh also it's nice that the Spyder stands up by it's self.

I was 59 when I purchased my 08 Spyder SE5. All though I rode various cycles (smaller Hondas to my KZ900 Kaw) in my younger days I really enjoy the Spyder the most. I am currently waiting on my:spyder2: RT-S PE 0016, it should be completed by middle of next week.

I am at the onset of my second puberty.
Good grief this spyder is more fun than should be legal.

I have added a signature that made me smile.

wait 'til Tatt sees it.

I was 32 years old win I purchased mine in april of 09.
After laying down a busa going over 70mph. I told myself I would never get on two wheels again. I was very thankful I walked away with no major injuries. Then I saw a spyder and could not resist. I shouldn’t have a problem laying one of those down.

57 years old when I bought my Spyder used.

I had been on two wheels a short time prior having gotten my motorcycle license 3 years ago. Injury to my spine Jan '09 made it pretty clear that holding up the bike at stops was going to be a problem. Sold a Honda Nighthawk 250 and a BMW F650 GS early spring last year before I found a Spyder. Once I took the demo ryde I pretty much knew I was going to get one. Only the when, from whom, and how much to be figured out.

44

Hello SethO,
I was 44, when I purchased mine used in Sept. 2008. Been riding cruisers since I was 18. I love the trunk, the stability in all weather conditions, and the looks I get from everybody. Fun, fun, fun. :)
I remember riding it home from Detroit where I purchased it used off Craigslist. I would have people pull along side me in their cars, roll down their window, and get their cell phone cameras working.
Let the good times roll!

62 in August 09.

Girlfriend will not ride on two wheels, she gets on the Spyder though. Got my license in '68. raced quarter mile + on dirt in 60's & 70's. Now just put around.

Seth.... you shouldn't be asking our ages......however, since you did.. I was 76 and turned 77 when returning from the LA Owners event last year.
When you were in Fl, my age hadn't changed.
Hope you got your answeres.. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

I was 26 when I first made the choice to get a Spyder in early 2007. I was 27 when I finally took delivery. I had always wanted a trike, even though I had no problem with having a 2 wheeler either, I just liked the way the trike looked. Almost got a MP3 until I saw the Spyder in a CycleWorld magazine in April 2007. It was love at first sight! :2thumbs:

come on now, you and doc easily blasted around faster than 99% of the people I ride with, your riding age is VERY different than your real age. I just asked this to see if anyone on here was my age when they got off their spyder. Don't get me wrong I had an awsome time talking shop and stuff with you guys as well.

Probably not going to find too many people younger than me (27) when they first bought their Spyder.

Seth, it has been a about a year . . . .

. . . . . and I was 60 when I got it in March 2009.

As I approach my anniversary of ownership, the biggest surprise over the past year is on how different the riding experience is. I find it more relaxing and go places that I would not have ever gone with my motorcycle. I stop more often and ride with more enjoyment. I am always very likely to end up someplace different than I planned on - in general, it has put the adventure back into my riding.

The only regret I have is that my other motorcycle has been abandoned.

Tom

I bought it at 60 because ,with a moderate neurological limp , I feel Much more comfortable on it than 2 wheels! Its my Jet Ski on land. I Love the :spyder2:.nojoke

46 - I had to stop riding 2-wheelers 20+ years ago due to a balance issue. Heck, I'm dangerous on a bicycle!

My Spyder has brought me lots of enjoyment and many new friends as well. (some of them even where their helmets in TN!) :D

Cool...
Come on down and we'll do it again. I think the roads will still be here....also the blue light specials.:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:
