• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How many miles in one day (trip)

For sporty looking seats, I'd go with the BRP comfort seat, the Corbin or find someone who can tweak your stock seat with the addition of better foam and reshaping the seat. If I was a billionaire Spyder philanthropist, I'd buy every SpyderLover a Russell seat. That's how much I like mine, but it has the touring look that you want to stay away from.

DITTO ! :agree: I had the others I like this Russell the best.

So, my wife and her family are heading to the lake house in Pulaski NY on thursday morning and I need to stay and work that day. I am debating on whether I should take the spyder up there later on and do some serious driving or if it may be too much. I have only had the spyder for about 3months, but love it and put about 3400 miles on it so far.

Pulaski? Me and HDX got married on a boat while fishing for salmon on Lake Ontario :2thumbs:. He used to be a fishing & hunting guide up there for a while. Beautiful up there! Nice roads - go for it!!!!!

Anybody know what kind of seat Dudley has? Bike seat that is.

Never mind...he has a Corbin...I peeked at his blog.

Nice, it's so much fun up there. I love taking the sea doo out on Lake Ontario and Sandy Pond.

Very pretty up that way! We don't have a Seadoo. Would be nice but we've only got Long Island Sound and that is filled with needles, garbage and sewer sludge. It's a cess pool, you won't see me in it. Lake Ontario is beautiful - I caught my first (and last) salmon there. Haven't been salmon fishing since but it was lots of fun, specially in a wedding dress trying to reel in the fish with this weight belt thingy on - those things like to fight!

I believe I was on that in a watermaster. First time fishing ever was in a watermaster with HDX - he did all the steering LOL - I had no clue and it was February - lots of snow and we were (well he was, I had no clue) fly fishing for Steelhead. Try going in the woods to take a pee w/ man sized waders on in over a foot of snow :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:. Then the summer we got married we took the kids and we were all in our own water masters - that was fun, I got the hang of it (sort of). Then we caught the salmon on the boat on Lake Ontario - I like boat fishing better!

1,518 miles in under 24 hours...:yikes: on the way to Ca. Also, coast to coast in 49 hours.

Don't listen to this guy, he's got some sort of disorder.... the doctors are working on it. :joke:

We plan on doing anywhere from 600 - 800 miles a day during our trip in September. Of course we have heated Corbin seats, a nice big windshield, and the ability to switch back and forth between rider and passenger. We could probably do more but we want to take our time. Our vacation is the ride, not the destination.

BTW, 35 days before departure.:2excited:

You are a riding fool Doc, and my hat is off to you, but I think SpyderGirl is right, you do have some sort of disorder. Or maybe you took that Iron Butt stuff seriously...and had an upgrade. :joke:

I once rode a Honda 400/4 from San Diego to Cheyenne WY in 24 hours (1161 miles) non stop except for gas food etc. When I finally stopped and got a room for the night, I made the mistake of taking off my boots when I got ready to go to the restaurant in the hotel I could not get my boots back on. I went down to the restaurant in my socks and told the host I could not get my boots on he said "no problem we will put you in a booth and no one will see.

As for Doc he got a transplant from one of the other Doctors, he now has a Titanium Butt:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

well a buddy of mine wanted to take the trip with me so we left around 5pm and got in (Pulaski NY) late last night. We did all 410 miles, and the only issue is the temperature DROPPED.

The stock seat was ok, but my butt hurts a little bit today. All and all it was an awesome ride, and tomorrow we take off for Montreal.:2thumbs:

2 up Geezer report

We rode to Seattle to CA(1300mi) with the stock seat. Nasty

We rode from Ca to Seattle with the BRP Comfort seat. 60% improvement.

We took our time each way. Going maybe from 9 am to 4 pm. Stopping every 140 miles for at least a half hour if not more. Usually was hard to leave any sooner with the homies asking Spyder questions.

we definitely took our time and even stopped to eat at cracker barrel for awhile.

Had to layer up and put my rain gear on just to block the wind. When we left my house in the DC it was about 85 deg, in the mountains it got down to 55 and it was COLD

On my Spyder, 490 miles in 7 hours, but my first wife is still alive because of my 1000 mile days on my Virago:sour:. ALONE.
