• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. How many bars on temp gauge

I have a '13 ST and had the '14 side panels put on. They have to make a difference in removing heat from the cowling area. I live in central Florida where of course the outside air temp is scorching. My Spyder runs at five bars and sometimes four depending on the ram air across the radiator.
Just curious, what do other STs run on the temperature gauge?

Usually 5 bars unless outside air is below 80 and on highway than 4. Yesterday going up to daytona outside air 61 had three bars.My impression of new panals ( which are great) is they mainly cool the Tupperware especially by the seat/ tank area and your legs

Temp Bars

It is my understanding that the temp bars will run from 3 to 5 bars depending on outside temp. The problem was the excess heat around the side panels and under the seat on some of the '13's. There is no correlation between the bars on the digital readout and excess underbody heat.

Heat

Hi, I also went to Daytona yesterday from Davenport, ran 70+ mph and had no more than 4 bars it ran so good and cool.

Let's see..!!

Though I have an RS and no heat issues I run 4 and 5 bars during the summer. Agree that this is engine heat and not the engine compartment heat. The new panels help remove the compartment heat does little to cool the engine...

Out here in ohio with the temps we have now I sometimes run at 2 bars on the temp going down the freeway I have a 13 rss with the new panels and the cat removed.

Agree..more intake air does not relate to readout decrease.

I took a trip over the mountains on my ST on Sunday it was 53 degrees at the top we were cruising at about 65 MPH up the hill and reading 3 to 4 bars the new air scoops sure keep the gas tank nice and cold as long as you are moving however after we came back from Wenatchee
we hit some stop and go traffic at Gold Bar for about 45 minutes just creeping along and the side panels were getting really hot the temperature outside was only about 64 degrees I didn't stop and pop the seat up but I bet the gas tank was getting pretty hot too!!
The bars never got over 5 in the stop and go traffic.
