• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How many actually work on their own Spyder

I would fall into that category. The only thing I had my dealer do was a water pump replacement and that was only because it was under warranty and didn't cost me anything

Now that mine is out of warranty it probably will never see the dealer again.....

I also have 2 boys that make a living as auto mechanics, one Ohio tech graduate and the other owns his on tire/auto shop. So I have it covered.

Wrench Bending

Can do. But, that doesn't mean I always do (for personal reasons). If it's a warranty item, then it's theirs.

I do all preventative maintenance, dealers are really expensive. If/when I need major work will decide if I can do it or not.. Have done all my farkles except the wrap.

Will do my own maintenance once my warranty and maintenance policy expire.
Currently do my own farkles.

The only thing that I would not attempt is a major mechanical issue and at that point, it would probably be cheaper to just find a complete motor.

Unless I have to take it in for warranty work, it's all me! I'm the mechanic, detailer, designer and fabricator for all that is done to my Spyder.

akspyderman;775768Dealer gets to do most anything technical. I am not very mechanically inclined.[/QUOTE said:
My Can-Am dealer does the mechanical work on my spyder. I am not mechanically inclined, and I don't have the time to do it. ( That Work Thing, Riding my spyder etc.) Deanna777

Do all my own Maintenance, and Farkle additions. Use the dealer for everything else. BTW the RS was so much easier to maintain than the RT. :yikes: I am now looking for a funnel from the "Wizard of OZ" just to add coolant.

I prefer to do my own maint and customization to my own high standards,I don't like anybody touching my toys even with warente work I still go over everything just to make me happy.

 I am the most mechanically-challenged Human in the Universe  (Forget about the Planet)
I add farkles; only if it's not too deep into the mechanicals of the bike...
It takes me about three times longer to perform the tasks that I choose to undertake; I enjoy the challenge and the satisfaction gained from the experience!

Haha...I thought I was the only one that did that.....I did the same thing when I got mine back after the warranty water pump. I had all the plastics torn off in the garage and went over everything!
