• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How long does it take?

Just curious to find if anyone has a 2012 RT-S yet? I ordered mine in October and the dealer tells me that he hasn;t recieved the order yet. I figured it would perhaps not be on the assempbly line until October or Nov 2011 for the 2012's, maybe even January...BUT it is almost the end of February and still ...nadda.

I really don't HAVe to get it until April, but I don't want to get the same story once the Riding weather gets here.

So what are your experiences for ordering and wait times?

Interesting question

I put a deposit on a RTS Jan 5. I was told that the dealer will first receive a serial number and shipping date before it is shipped.

Apparently the dealer receives one shipment per month or so. We live two and a half hours from them (Regina) and are waiting for any news that they have. Waiting. Waiting.

Any information (experiences)?????

The dealer usually gets notification when the Spyder ships. Sometimes it comes a little late, though. On my last one, the email came the day the Saturday the truck arrived. They didn't read the email until the tech was actually working on my Spyder. Patience, Grasshopper, the dealer has to prep it, so he needs a day for that once he can work it into the tech's schedule. If they are kind enough to notifiy you when it lands, that should give you a couple of days notice.

Ordered my wife's '12 RT in August and it was delivered to her on November 29th.

Maybe they're shipping them all to the US, figuring Canadians won't be riding until later in the year. (lol)

I ordered my 2010 in September and it was delivered in late December. I ordered my 2011 in October, and it was delivered in March. Part of it depends on the model and color. BRP seems to run models and colors in batches. Red alwas seems to take the longest, but I think the 2011 LTDs were the last to be produced.

Thanks, that kind of helps me get an idea. My deposit was made on October 6th, 2011 and the order made. Yours was 3 months (assuming that production of '12's were already underway in August. I call for an update about every month. :)

When I ordered my '08 RS January 4, 2008 - I rec'd it in October. (so much for the "Canadian Snow" thing). but I got a few km's on the RS before it got too cold out there.

There are only 23 days left 'til Spring

Hi Star Cruiser

I ordered my 2011 RTS in Oct. and me and my snowmobile suit picked it up early April .
:2thumbs: very encouraging. April would work fine for me. Looks like I will need to get me a snowmobile suit. Hope to get out for a few Rydes this year with you. Check out Ontario Spyder Ryder's on Facebook :D

Why don't you start sending out inquiries to other dealerships to see if they tell you the same story?
If not you may be able to order one faster somewhere else!

Good luck, and enjoy when you finally get yours, I have been enjoying my RT Limited sense I drove it off the lot
the first time.

Past that pount now, I think. I love the service dept at this dealership. Paid for the Spyder and just waiting on the delivery. So.... just a heads up on when Ni can expect it (really) now. Looks like April should be a good bet (thanks Fast Fraser)

I was very lucky after my 2011 was totaled by a lady running a red light in an intersection, I stopped by my local dealer and asked when they thought they would receive a 2012 magnesium RTS se5 in and he told me that they had one in the crate out back . Told him to start the set up on it it was mine, took delivery the next day that was on
Dec. 5th, 2011 I now have 1565 miles logged on it, not bad for living in the Pacific North West in the winter time.
:ohyea:We have had a very mild winter tho:clap::clap:

BRP says that the colour and model is the culprit. Quantum Blue RT-S are not ready yet! . Not CERTAIN that your avitar is a 2012, but it sure looks like Quantum Blue ... MORE 'splainin' to do ???

Yes it is Quantum Blue and it is 2012. I am guessing that this person is not opting for the SE5, because mine is the SE5. And believe me that is the best option ever.

My RTS Viper Red SE5 is at the dealer getting set up. Now all I need is good weather to drive it home, 150+miles.

2012 RT-S SM5 Magnesium

I ordered a 2012 RT-S SM5 Magnesium January 11 and rode it out the door w/CB and Trailer Wiring installed Mar.7. Build date 10-7-2011.
Excellent Ryde

Picked it up today

from PowerSports Regina. Drove it home. No problems.
After not having driven a motorcycle for more than 25 years, the Spyder seemed a natural to drive.
