• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. How long before your 2014 ignition switch failed?

I've had mine less than a month and have 500 miles on it, and it's beginning to get hard to operate. taking it in for warranty tires tomorrow and will have them take a look.

Mine failed within the first 2 hours of ownership :-/, but it was for the ignition function of the frunk latch. OP had issues with the keys sticking in the ignition.

Wow. This is a hell of an endorsement.

Knock on wood, so far 3 weeks and 1000 miles and I'm still good, but thanks for the heads up. I'll keep an eye on it.

A service bulletin came out about the frunk and ignition with vin numbers that could be affected. They do a weight test on the frunk cable and they filed the "teeth" on my keys a touch so they wouldn't have a problem in the ignition. Only took about half hour.

PS....this was for 2014 only

No switch problems here

I've not had switch problems with our 2012 or 2014 RT Limited. :D I have almost 10,000 miles on the 2014 RT L and it's been awesome. No hints or signs of any switch issues here.

12,600 miles and 6 months here and no issues. It appears that those that have this issue it happens soon after the get their Spyder.

I've had my '14 about a month and 800 miles - while the frunk doesn't pop up (I have to turn the key & manually lift it, like my old '09 GS), I ride it every day, and turn it off & on at least 4 times a day. No problems at all.

Which brings up the question: "Are the dealers actually checking to see if these bikes are on the list?", prior to delivery, and during assembly? :dontknow:

Mine did, but they had to wait a couple weeks for tool to test frunk cable. He said if problem with key/ignition would show up pretty quick.

Happened here at about 2000 miles--mine was cable slipping off--not locked up ignition/key. Dealer finally fixed after much diddling around with BRP.

They replaced my ignition and the frunk cable.
