• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How I remove the rear tire.

Removed rear tire tonight. I needed to check my bearings, all good. Tomorrow I will take it to the dealer to have it balanced. I have a vibration that starts around 56 mph to 60 mph. I know what belt vibration is and this is not that. I am hoping I lost a couple of stuck on weights. Shaft is in good shape. So I will know more in a couple of days. Bruce

Bruce it's been my ( and others here ) experience that BALANCING the REAR tire has little effect on vibes. ... I only balanced ONE rear tire...... Many rear tires later I have not balanced any of those ............. PS thanks again for the Trunk " template " ... I loooooooooooooooooooooove this thing ..... After making the first one I decided it would be a LOT easier to just make it Straight and add the thumb piece buy gluing it on separately ..... I gave my first one to another member here who visited me ..... Mike

Mike you are right. My rear tire was 5 ounces out of balance. All we could figure out was I lost a couple of stick on weights. Got tire back on and I will give a test ride in the next couple of days. Bruce

I keep checking this thread to see how a safe cracker would remove the drive wheel on a Spyder. I keep expecting something explosive...:joke:

Interesting .... I have seen in the past , that you have been concerned about " OFF TOPIC " remarks ...... just a thought .... Mike

Himm. 2 jacks - I like it very much. As a newbie thats in the book for rear wheel work for sure.

Re the vibration. I completely agree with the remove and eliminate things like damaged tyre, worn bearings and wheel assembly balance. Haha A shaped charge would remove it but it would be a bitch to re-install I reckon. Look forward to the ride assessment on the vibration.

The tire weights helped alot. I still have a little vibration around 56 to 58. But I did increase my belt tension from 115 lbs to 145 lbs. Now I have a Pre 2013 model so we run alittle less belt tension than 2014 and up. Bruce.

I have my belt tension at 180+ per Kritkat II on both the 12 and 14 RTs..neither rear General Altimax RT43 are balanced
