• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. It wasn't too long ago, I saw someone claiming to have gone 225mph (yes mph) on his. I find that very difficult to believe, however, as ours has no where near the gitty up and go as my 2000 BMW R1100RT and I've only ever had it to 135 by GPS readings. as always YMMV. ;)

Don't know how fast because my eyes were watering so much I could not read the speedometer. But people who saw me said I was leaving a "vapor

trail" Go figure!

now that is a good one jack ! mine only 80  so far ! haven`t had to faster !

110

So far the only opportunity that I had to open her up got me to 110 mph. She still had a little bit more to go. Maybe 120-125? I'll let you know next spring.

I had my wife's 2014 RTS up to 107 mph and still pulling until I ran up on traffic
and had to back off.
I had my 2016 F3 T up to 115 and still pulling hard until I backed off.

When pulling my RT622 trailer through Texas, reached 95 mph to pass a big rig before I ran out of gas.:opps:

Shared this with BRP, they said the RT was tested to 90mph, so it was good to know that it held together at the speed I shared.:D

The subject has been discussed a few times over the years. The number that comes up mostly is the 110 - 115 miles per hour range. This information based on what people read from their speedometers while tooling down the highway.

There are a few that have documented speeds--as in from racetrack tryouts. They will probably show up.

Me?--90 - 95 maybe once. Have not tried the limits. The 225--that's in the ball park in you have your speedo set to KPH. I used that feature while driving in Canada--makes it easier to follow the speed limit signs. 62 MPH is equal to 100 KPH. I did 120 when in Canada a couple times.

A good trick to play on a novice rider. Put in in KPH and go for a ride on the highway at about 70. It will show up on the speedo as plus 100. That usually gets their attention. :roflblack:

A few years ago a few of us on 5 bikes (2014 RT LTD, 2014 STL, 2013 STL, 2012 RT-S, & 2011 RT) did 3 laps around the Pocono Speedway full out. The best speed if I can remember correctly was about 187 kph which is about 116 mph. We had them pegged chasing the pace car. A once in a lifetime moment.

Well....

I have been upto 117 mph on my RS but ran outta road... still had some left in her but you are limited to what the rev limiter will let you do. I believe that they are set to about 120 and the highest believable speed I have seen is 126 mph. Get rid of the limiter and who knows....

I touched 113 with a slight down hill and my windshield as low as she goes;), and no, I don't recall my tire air pressure:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

I know some of you over there have questioned the need for the large numbers at the top end of the speedo dial, but for those of us who use kilometres instead of miles, even stock the 200 plus speedo is just sufficient - there are vids showing V-twin powered Spyders getting up to speeds over 215kph on the autobahn & elsewhere, so for the pre-2014 models with AU/EU gearing, 130 odd mph IS achievable, even if most of us don't ever want or need to push our Spyders to go quite that fast too often! ;)

That is, at least until you get one of the better ECU upgrades out there, like the ECU upgrade done by Jase (I am rapt with my upgrade, but if you want to talk more about it, PM me or contact Jase; he is here in Aus, but is a member here with that username & is otherwise found at [email protected]) Suffice to say that his upgrade removes a lot of the detuning & restrictions/limitations imposed that stop these engines running out to the very same output levels that they safely achieve elsewhere/on other machines - it's an upgrade that makes running the speedo off the dial well & truly achievable!! And while the std performance with stock settings is OK for most, after the rotaxracing ECU upgrade, the performance you have on tap (even if you don't necessarily want to use it in getting up beyond the numbers on the speedo dial ALL the time) is nothing short of fanbloodytastic! :2thumbs:

And when I'm not playing with all the extra GO, my 'sensible ryding touring range' is significantly increased too!! It's awful hard to resist the urge to play tho!!
