• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How far would you go to avoid long lines?

that might be the one thing NY dmv does correctly, you can do almost everything online including replaceing a lost license , so go online and then go for super long ride !!!

I normally renew stuff online...
...and when I have turn in a set of license plates; I wait until DMV shows up at our Town Hall...
They stop here once a Month!

No, we rode from Las Vegas into California then back to Nevada to the DMV in Laughlin then across the river to Arizona and back home. The direct route to Laughlin is a little more than 100 miles but we had to pick up Joe's KTM on the southwest side of town and that is why we hit California.

We saw several Spyders today, I think the snowbirds have returned.

You both rode Spyders 'and' picked up a motorcycle?

Virginia . . you can renew registration on line with a discount . . . . . get vanity plates, drivers license renewal (with some exceptions), get title, etc.:2thumbs:

You can also walk in and wait in line if that's your thing.

Here in Texas

You can renew your registration at the service desk of some grocery stores as long as it is not late.

Going to the DMV in Las Vegas is an experience - not a good one - the nearest office is 4 miles from home and the wait is usually long so today we took a detour to renew the plates on one of our vehicles. 267 miles and 3 states later we have the tag renewed and we only had to wait for 2 people ahead of us. Life is good.

Just don't mention how much registration is here ARGH!

Here in TN we can order tag renewals by mail, or go to the local county office or use their Drive-Thru window. I have not had a long wait for tag renewal, driver's license is a different story! According to the folks working at the driver's license office, Mondays and the last couple days of the month are crazy busy and are best avoided!:spyder:

We like to ride. The line at the DMV gave us an excuse to RIDE! So, we had a wonderful ride on a perfectly beautiful day! Bikes running great, feeling good, no conflict on the schedule. A great day!

I know the feeling Joe. BTW I just bought a new BMW R1200R. Love this bike!

New Jersey registration renewals can be done online or by mail ($71.50 per year for a car.) License renewals have to be done in person; lots of paperwork to prove your identity.

LOL

Online, baby, online...

I'd have done mine online, but the form they sent didn't have all the info needed for my car. (Vanity tag expired and couldn't be renewed.) The county treasurer's office always has a line at the end of the month, and since I procrastinated, I waited a week after expiration and went in and had no wait at all. Now I'm all legal and new vanity tags are on the way. Next year it will be online, fer shur.

(BTW, in Kansas, we pay our personal property tax on the vehicle at the time of registration. Very convenient.)

Online, baby, online...

:agree: :D

And the ride alone was worth it. Luckily I seldom have to wait more than one or two people here. Can also get it done via mail.
