• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How Far to Your Dealer?

We have two dealers close by ~25 to 30 miles but purchased and plan to use the service dept of one 140 miles away. After going in to all of them, talking to people, and reading reviews we decided on Central Florida Power Sports in Orlando. Others may be happy with the closer dealers but neither met our comfort factor requirements.

Recently bought :spyder2: #5 from the same dealer. They are 5 miles away from me. They have a second shop 25 miles up the road. A third dealer is about 35 miles away. That's it for the whole state of Alaska. Next service is in the lower 48 or Whitehorse Yukon Canada (about 550 miles away).

I have driven the Anchorage to Whitehorse trail! Better stick with your local dealer!! :roflblack:

I drive 75 miles and I like the service I get. There is another dealer that is 44 miles away, but they never called me back when I was first looking at Spyders. Guess they didn't want my business.

Take a look at a map of the State of Western Australia: I live in Broome and my nearest dealer is in Perth 2,200km away, with very little in between!
Just today I've loaded my Spyder on a truck from Perth home to Broome - purely because I cannot afford the time to ride it - a cool A$605 one way!!

I vowed to never go to my closest dealer, which is 5 miles away, after they ended up costing me over a $1000 that should have been covered under my extended warranty. They submitted the claim to BRP as a wear item but everyone else that had the same problem was covered.

I could not find anyone in my area that could mount and balance my new rear tire. I finally ended up going to that dealer and was quoted a price of $24 to do the job, to which I replied that that sounded good and immediately the service mgr. said well it might be $48 and when I went to pick it up they charged me $66. Now I have made "a pact" with myself to never have anything done there again. I should have known better anyway.

I will continue to go to Ingalls in Phoenix, NY (62 miles) or Bibbens in Waterloo, NY(32 miles) whenever I need something done by a dealer. Both of these dealers are excellent and trustworthy. I do all of the regular maintenance myself.
