• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How does the Airhawk seat stay in place?

gkamer

Sadly passed away, December '23.
Does it just sit on the stock seat or are there straps that go under the seat to hold it in place and keep it from being lifted by some sticky fingered you know what.....

The straps that break off after about 6 months.

You can sew better ones on.

They sure do. That happened on the first one that I had, which was replaced under warranty. The second one, my mother-in-law did some additional sewing on the straps, and that solved the problem. I've had it for maybe 5 years now with no problems. And to me, it is really comfortable and allows me more time in the saddle.

The WildAss air cushion has pass-thru slots in the cover with long elastic velcro straps so there is no risk of tearing the loops that are used on the Airhawk. I've had the WildAss for 4 years - no issues.

When the straps broke on mine, I sewed some 1/4 inch nylon straps on it, and attached the nylon buckles to fasten it to the top frame tube. Had it about 4 years and no more problems.

Had our Air hawks for many years and many miles. They work great and NO broken straps. I often switch mine between the :spyder2: and my poor, old, slow V-Max .

We have never used the straps with the AirHawk. They stay on the seat. When parking I just pull it off and put in the trunk.

Hi Dave here,
Rather than mess around with a bag of air held on with straps, for the same or even less money
You could have one of my Motorcycle Dave's Medical Grade Gel kits with memory foam in your
seat, it will never leak, pop, slide off to the side and you can install it yourself.
There are many many Spyder Riders who have them just ask them how they like my Gel Kit.
go to my website and click on custom seats scroll down to the how to install section to see how easy it is.
I have them made by the company who invented GEL & Memory Foam for Hospitals /Medical needs, this is the same material used in hospital beds to stop pressure points and HOT SPOTS so the patients who are in a bed for a long time
don't get bed sores... So if you don't want a sore butt you need one of my seat kits. ONLY $85.00 and while your at it
you could install one of my OEM type Seat Heaters if you ride in cold weather, ALSO only $85.00 CALL TODAY
